Match prediction: Sunderland

Sunderland

We're playing Sunderland in the last home game of the season and it's official; they're the worst premiership team in the history of the league, Villa are about to finish our worst ever premiership season and we've had our worst ever home season ever.

It doesn't matter what the result is for Aston Villa fans. We've seen some of the worst football in the past two seasons at Villa Park and even if we won 5-0 the reaction to David O'Leary will not be good.

At the end of the day every single player will get a good reception because we know from watching them all that it's not directly their fault but O'Leary will get it in the neck, of that there is no doubt.

We've beaten Sunderland 72 times, lost 51 and drawn 39. I expect Villa to win this one also and I expect that it will be a few goals, only because it's the last game and there is nothing to play for.

The really nice thing about this weekend is Birmingham City travel to Bolton knowing there is absolutely nothing they can do because they're relegated into the Coca Cola cup league!

Three nil to Villa this weekend on a glorious sunny day then news that David O'Leary is off would make the season just about acceptable.
