Mellberg denies that he is tired of Aston Villa

Aston Villa captain Olof Mellberg has strongly denied the rumours linking him with a January move to relegation threatened Birmingham City. Thanks to Dave, Carl, Stephen and Hugo for emailing in and making us aware of this - if someone can find us a quote with him rubbishing the link to Middlesbrough we'd also like to see it.
According to Mellberg it's 'bull****' and clubs are only interested in him now because he is playing well.
We for one hope he stays but in football nothing is for certain whenever a rumour like this surfaces I tend to look for the fire rather than the smoke.
