Message for David O'Leary: You are a useless waste of space and it's your back the crowd jump on

Monday, 13 March 06, 03:42 PM · Comments (0)

When he joined Aston Villa David O'Leary said he learnt his lesson at Leeds and wouldn't be talking so much to the press. Well, we've all learnt that what David O'Leary says and does are normally two different things.

In an attempt today to antagonise supporters he has come out further criticising 'a section' of the crowd at Villa Park. He said "I think there is an element at Villa Park, the players seem to be saying, that jump on their backs very quickly and they get a bit nervous". If the gormless one hasn't figured it out yet, it's him the fans are jumping on and not the players.

These players are led by a blind man and can not be blamed for the poor decisions made by the chairman in appointing the man who has achieved nothing in football management.

O'Leary went on "It's a fantastic football club that I am desperate to put right but we know what puts things right. What we can do in the meantime is make sure it is safe."

Well that isn't what he said when he joined the club; he said we'd be in Europe at the end of this season and he also said he wanted to prove he wasn't a chequebook manager; looks like he's failed on both counts.

David O'Leary has had over ?20mn. to spend on players and let some real talent leave. He doesn't know how to manage a team, develop them or even lay out some simple tactics on how to play.

We all know he's going but when? The day he leaves 'by mutual consent' is going to be a great day and hopefully Aston Villa will be able to move forward. We might not be allowed expectations anymore of our football club but surely we can still expect our chairman to do what is right for the club?
