According to the Daily Mail, Martin O'Neill is pursuing James Milner for £6mn. and for that type of money, I don't think it's a bad deal.
I've maybe not been the biggest James Milner fan in the past but there are not that many days left until the Premier League season starts and I'm fairly confident Martin O'Neill will bring out the best in the lad.
We've all seen Milner play and he does create chances and he also gets the occasional goal - it will be good business at £6mn. and I've got a feeling the lad probably wants to come. It would be a step up for him and I say imminent, because if it is going to happen, it must happen soon, but it is speculation.
Transfer speculation to one side for the moment, although I suspect we'll be coming back to it later today, tomorrow night is UEFA Cup night and I for one am really looking for to it.
By the sounds of things, Martin O'Neill is also looking forward to it and knows how important it is. Talking to the club site he said "These games could shape our season. A good start in the League is what every team is looking for and the right result in Iceland could set us up nicely."
He's not wrong, these games could shape our season and I know that we're all looking forward to them - it's the next natural step for us to take as a club and if we continue the development this season that we have done for the past two, it should be an exciting season.
Now, onto fantasy football and my shame at not having it ready yet. The issue is really quite simple and while it's not down to me, I'll take full responsibility, because you need someone to blame.
As the game is getting integrated into our new site, which we're hoping will be up this week in time for the new season, we're trying to make it so your existing user account allows you to play without having to re-register.
As of now, it works and the game is excellent, but I can see huge issues if we don;t' fix this, so as we speak people in New Zealand are working on it and hopefully we'll have it up and running very soon.
So, that's my excuse for not having it for you. Now, I'm going to get on the phone and find out when it will all be ready but don't be surprised if there is more news later today - I've got a feeling in my gut something is going to happen today.

Milner would be a great signing!
Any news on the De La Red approach Damian? Seems to have gone quiet on feedback about it...
no news is good news
Do tell Damian you little minx - do tell???....
Damo, how much are you itching to tell us about DLR :) Hopefully its not dead and we have a bid accepted soon. Its crazy how a couple of weeks of good signing changes the mood :)
Just heard phil thompson on talksport...i dont wanna go on about gareth barry but these scouse just dont understand. He is not overpriced and we don't need to sell. idiot.
step up? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH why? because you scraped into uefa? jimmys had euro experiance with us and will get it again, you really are a tiny wee club! he knows what side his bread buttered on, you have no chance! i say no chance!!!!!
Phil Thompson is a big nosed twat!
iVE NEVER KNOWN ANYONE SO BIASED TOWARDS THERE OWN CLUB ON SKY
apparently if we buy anyone else we will be forced to sell for a cheaper price, so liverpool are right to wait....WhhHHHHAAATTT?
nikk0 - I remember Phil Thompson on the touchline barking at John Deehan like a madman following Gerrard's murderous tackle on Boateng years ago - the man is a clueless idiot! ;D
Thanks for the misleading article title.
Imminent my arse.
Also where's De La Red then eh?
rabwright - no we say step up because we are a club competing in the top 6 not bottom 8.
Keegan will never let Milner go so close to the season. If MON really wanted him he should have opted for him sooner.
Tony Daley's Afro
Did you read the post or just jump in to comment? As for misleading titles, would it have been okay if I just put a ? after it?
As for de la Red; read the site. I'm not going back to show you what has already been written.
To rabwright:
No, not because we scraped into the UEFA cup, because we are certain to finish above Newcastle this season.
Be honest with yourself, look at the respective squads, there is not a chance in hell that Newcastle will finish above Villa this season.
you fucking toon twat get off our blogg!!!! we are bigger than u!!! how many teams in your city? just 1 and thats u lot!!! in our city we have 4 big teams within 10 miles of villa park!!! if we had only villa around here then trust me villa would need a stadia to hold 70,000 people plus!!! you think dicks!!! thats the only reason y u gays get 51,000 every week because there is no other team to support!!!
and by the way wat have you guys ever won?
so fuck off!!!
A step up for him ? I think not....
He will be playing for the toon this season for sure.
james milner and a striker at the level at santa cruz and de la red and 4th spot will be far from being a pipe dream the future is looking bright
Absolute rubbish He is at a much bigger club and this would be a step down for him.
Please tell where Villa would be a step up? He has already played more European games at Newcastle than he would ever at Aston Villa.
The deal is not imminent and the lad himself said he never wanted to leave Newcastle it was the simple fact he was not first choice for us at the time. So our reserve was to be your first choice winger....surely that means Villa are a step down then?!
I very much doubt you are actually after him, after all, long ball teams rarely use wingers - before you argue back why sign Carew and hoof the ball to him otherwise? Why show interest in Zigic if you aren't aiming to continue Martin's preferred tactics at Wycombe, Leicester, celtic and yourselves?
Im not sure why you believe the Daily Mail, but I'll let that one pass. Why oh Why would we seel a player who's 22 on a long contract and lowish salary who is very gifted with a long future ahead of him, to a rival for a loss (We got him for £5.8m with sell on clause I believe around 20%). I think you'll get rebuffed immediatly for any bid lower than £12m. Especially when your board value Barry at £20m, how can you expect us to sell for so little.
well waht a signing that will be
the player will bring somethin new to the right wing
the kid is still young and still has a lot to learn
and i think MON is the man to learn from
Hahahah You having a laugh aren't you. The 2nd biggest city in the UK which gets less of a mention than Durham. A nothing City.
A step up... don't make me laugh... Our club is a big club. You are just a bunch of Midland Porpers who will never win anything. A step up... get in the real world bonny lad. The Toon has and always will be a cut above you guys.
What a load of crap.
P.S. There is no chance Milner is leaving... and no chance certainly that he would prefer a 2nd rate club like Villa over Newcastle who are obviosuly and always have been a much better and bigger club.
P.P.S. Sort your city out... its dull and drab and no one outside the midlands has ever heard anything about it.
Lulu you talk absolute bollocks. Milner is staying where he is ie as far away from your paronoid mad irishman.
Damian wrote : "as we speak people in New Zealand are working on it"
Hhmmm nice to know they work late / don't sleep either :-)
Yes I did read the article but when it is titled as it is and pops up on newsnow it's a total downer when you realise there's no basis for the deal being imminent and it's just reporting on paper talk.
Oh no, who's released the geordies out the asylum.
Fog on the tyne = dillusion of all newcastle supporters.
Suck me plums, Lulu pet., you foul mouthed cunt!
Toon Fans..I'd love it if Milner came here, I'd really love it - to quote your nice but emotionally fragile manager.
As for your club, I'd worry more about starting a money collection for the next player..you're a mid-table side at best, Ashley's run out of money and you need to sell. It hurts but hey-ho, that's life.
NUFC fans - where did you come in the league again?
theres not much else to do in newcastle either, work down the mines, have a bath in front of the black and white tv, go outside when u need to have a shit and watch noocastle united.
id also describe tony daleys hair as dread locks rather than an afro? or is that the same thing?
Milner - decent player, would only start for us currently since we've got noone else really to go there (although personally I'd quite like to see Maloney starting).
Ideally in the long term I wouldn't want him to be much more than a squad player. Unless he can prove otherwise of course.
lulu, pick your dummy up!
We are defintely a better team than newcastle but i certainly wouldnt say a bigger club. Would love to see milner coming but cant see it.
lulu, couldnt have put that better myself!!
Ashley to sell milner to fund joey barton's newly acquired crack habit. he picked the habit up in prison!
Well being a small town in Scotland is really hard for you lot.
You would be far better playing in the SPL at least you would have some chance of winning something.
King Kev? Do us a favour.......
lol newcastle fans think newcastle is a bigger club than villa. how can that be? they finish in bottom half of the table we beat them 4-1 and we have a much better squad of players, milner will jump at the chance to play for villa. the only bigger thing they have than us is there stadium, but so have sunderland, don't mean they are a bigger club. dirty northern B*stards.
Wake up you silly Geordies! Villa made a fool of your team at Villa park last season! You were rubbish all season and could win to save you life.....
Are you forgetting that Milner wanted to sign for Villa last season but was forced to return to crappy Newcastle?!?
If you think newcastle are as good as Villa you must be deluded!
Nuf said
Newcastle fans are worse than Liverpool!
Milner will never play in Europe again if he stays at the Toon.
And this is what Sidwell, Shorey and Cuellar thought.
couldn't win i meant... :P
Reggie - I have been to Newcastle. Nice women, easy to pick up.
Nice Bigg Market, I can see where Viz gets their "down in the dumps" characters, perfect city to draw some inspiration from.
Milner may - or may not if we get a better player than him - come to Birmingham primarily because
a) your club's currently going nowhere
b) your owner's skint
c) your manager's second coming's never gonna work as well as the 1st, times have changed from 12 years ago - alas I understand when times are hard we draw comfort from memories and denial
d) Birmingham's not an isolated, medium-sized town on the borders of Scotland with nothing to do aside from in-breeding
e) Last time your club won anything of any note televisions were in black & white and The Beatles were at number 1.
Reggie - pet - you suck. It's as simple as that.
Nice touch keeping Joey Barton too, shows what a class club you are. It's fighting with Middlesbrough for 13th place again this season Reggie, enjoy.
does anyone know haw to pronounce cuellar, because i don't. that jack woodward person who does avtv siad kwellar but that don't sound right.
You fellas are living in delerium. One better season and look at the sh*t you come out with.
Honestly fellas... you know you are having a laugh if you think Milner would prefer to go to Villa. I mean come on... please give your dodgy brummie selves a kick.
P.S. Sort your accents out. They are known as the most disgusting in the UK.
Jack woodward is soooooo annoying!! Wish they could replace him!
And yes... No Basis for this article at all. Not even a snippet. So Damian... try writing some truth next time rather than utter sh*te about one of our loyal top players wanting to go to a mediocre crap hole.
You will never be a big a club as Newcastle. Face Facts.
I agree damian, the price makes this deal sound more like a worth while option, and to be fair to the lad he was one of our best players during the season that he spent with us.Its well known that Milner has a very professional attitude and would be MON's type of player.
His qualities would be useful to us and he would fit in the squad nicely in terms of ability, he wouldn't be the best and he wouldn't be the worst.
Having said this, is this what we should be trying to do at this stage in our development?...Buying players of similar quality to what we already have.
I appreciate what end of the transfer window we are at now but i would rather MON went for someone that would improve us quality wise.
Really chuffed with all the signings. Think we should at least replecate last seasons 6th place.
As for De La Red - how good is your source Damian? It's just i've seen little mentioned anywhere and usually someone picks up on it if an aproach or offer has been made.
In Newcastle they don't have a red light district....... you know why?
No need, two Bacardi Breezers does the trick.
Thanks to Jimmy Carr for that one.
Same as a billiard cue my son...Cue...lar...
Milner will be a FANTASTIC addition. English all over.
Alan Smith piss off.
so now we need De La Red, Santa Cruz and Joe Cole... my word!! its getting exciting
We don't all work 9 to 5 DLS ;)
Does anyone know how to pronounce Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar because the news readers can't ;D
A cross section of 1000 Geordies were asked if they thought Britain should change its currency.
99% said no, they were happy with the Giro.
Remember Milner passed a medical at Villa, agreed terms and was very happy to sign for Villa & MON. It was only a last second pull out by NUFC that stoped him signing. That happened and could easily be fulfilled this time. NUFC be afraid, be very afraid.
Reggie, you Sunderland people, I mean Geordies sorry, sound just as bad as Scousers...terrible
Haha nice one theprimeminister! Too true!
newcastle are going nowhere did you know barry and milner are very good mates king kev sacked by xmas utv
Thank you Regggie my pet!...A distinguishing accent is good,It enables one to stand out from the crowd unlike ones northern neighbours from the black stuff!
the newcastle fans sounds like they had a bottle of gin for brekkie....they are a long way behind villa in trophy count and development .... the only reason u are on our blog is because urs is staggnent ...milner will run to villa at the first oppertunity ,...it is the place that will make him an england player...and he has not shone since going back to newcastle
we really should tie up this deal its been going on for ages. i'm not too sure if Newcastle will let him go for 6mil although they might with their financial difficulties. I'd say they are gonna hold out for something like 9mil. He is a great player and reminds me of Barry, assured on the ball but i think he is a tad quicker, he scores come scorchers too, sign him up
Milner is training on sky sports at st james.
I hope we dont sign Milner personally. I think Routledge is as good as Milner and potentially better!
WE ALL WANT JOAQUIN!!
What's the difference between a Geordie lass and a Kitkat? A: You only get 4 fingers in a Kitkat.
Milner moving to villa would be a step down, he's at a bigger club, with better fans & better players at the moment. You lot can stick to buying average players like Luke Young & Sidwell. This is a silly article because Newcastle have already said they value him at £9m
reggie are you f*****g mad???
villa are a much better club than poocastle...sorry newcastle...easy mistake!
we got more money, better fans, batter city, better players, better owner, better manager
and a better bank! maybe thats why you got no money, cause your mike ashley's bank is northern rock!!! ;D
you will be lucky to finish in the top 10 after we murder you again just like last season!
milner for villa!!
And he'll be trainingn on villa turf by the end of the week!
I've said all along he's the man for the right side.
As for all you Geordies, he's already been here on loan and got a taste of the high life, he's sure to join MON.
I've been visiting this blog for just a few weeks... it doesn't take a lot to get people whipped up does it? If everyone who wants to criticise Damien ran their own blogs then they'd all be entitled to have a pop, but I'm guessing we don't all do that. If you don't like what's being written, don't read it, or read it and ignore it. Why come on here and have a go... isn't it a case of don't shoot the messenger? Has anyone called the Daily Mail this morning and had a moan at them for printing the Milner story?
And as for having go about the De La Red deal, its truthfulness or otherwise, would you rather the people who pick up the titbits of information about the club we all support share them or keep them to themselves? If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. If Damien wanted to make a name for himself, why not make something even more spectacular up? It'd be a great signing, but Joe Cole would be a bigger name, as would Podolski, Saviola or hundreds of other he could have speculatively made up and posted on. I, for one, appreciate the insight and, for the most part, the good humour that appears here. I feel I'm even starting to understand the likes of taglor the more I read :D
And finally, argue all you like about which club is bigger blah blah blah, but has anyone noticed the difference between today and yesterday? Today we get a slagging off from Newcastle fans; yesterday after we signed their best and most popular player, the Rangers fans were complimentary, good humoured and happy to talk about Cuellar's merits and influence. Any Newcastle fans out there actually fancy posting about the player, the kind of season he had, whether he'd be a good signing for another club or whether he is seen as a key part of Keegan's plans? I don't care if you've been in Europe, or that we are and you're not, or that your city's bigger/cleaner/cheaper/better than ours. My dad's bigger than your dad anyway...
Rant over, just wanted to get it off my chest
Jeees, ye newcastles fans should inter-breed with the scousers and spawn a team for dillusional anti-christs :)
Heard you first time...OK....Now go and play on the slag heap!
--------------------------------------------------------------
You idiot, the style of football that you play is appaling, i'd rather watch Small Heath play!
We play direct football with Quality Wingers, not overpayed, idiotic w*****s!
I really do not rate Milner at all. He struggles for games in a crap Newcastle team, rarely if ever scores or creates for that matter and has little pace.
However, RW remains the place in most urgent need of a first teamer as we currently have no-one who could do a better than decent job there. SWP, Lennon or dare I say it Joaquin would for me complete turn a very good transfer window into a great one.
Credit to MoN and Lerner as in fairness I have criticised both in the past - allbeit only about transfer dealings and mainly due to a lack of patience on my part.
I think Villa will either have either De La Red or Barry at Villa park next season. To be honest I hope its DLR - although Barry would still do a great job for us - I have no affection for the guy whatsoever and would prefer to see him go. There is also the fact that DLR in my opinion is different gravy!!
I thought Cuellar is pronounced "kwey-a"? (Like "Quaver" but without the "v"). ie the two l's are silent?
*BREAKING NUFC NEWS*
newcastle expected to announce today the imminent signings of alan shearer, les ferdinand, tino asprilla, peter beardsley and barry vennison. these new signings are to be brought in to remind the silly arse geordie fans about the glory days where they won f*&k all!!!!
honestly you geordies have lost it in the head if you think your a bigger club than villa. fair enough milner has played in europe for you did he win anything NOPE.......will newcastle ever win anything in the near future NOPE.....
go back to your own fan sight and talk about why you let steven carr go or some boring shite like that!!!!
Cuellar is pronounced KWAY-arr
LINK
Sky sports news have said Cuellar can play tomorrow night, is this true? And does playing for Rangers in the Champions league have any affect?
Off the subject completely - and cause i cant find it in another post back dated a couple of weeks! THere was a youtube video attached to this site of Brad Friedel - labelled : This is Brad Friedel. It was his double save v Arsenal. The video has been replaced with one of John Carew and searching on youtube i still cant find it, im obviously being an idiot but if anyone could be so kind as to post the link...cheers
(Milner would be a welcome addition, good hungry player with lots of potential - the reason he hasn't began to show it because he's being restricted by the bland football Newcastle play, a bit like Damien Duff - who i dont really rate by the way).
i can't believe we haven't bought anyone in 24 hours
seriously, why are ppl respondin to the geordies. look at our history and last seasons final position. look at newcastle. they paid world class money for players, that won them fuck all. we have won european cup and european super cup, fa cup, league titles, league cups. newcastle have won nothing. a joke of an excuse for a football team.
we pasted newcastle at vp last season. carew murdered them. they couldnt even score past us at st james toilet in the first meeting.
oh im a hypocrite i responded to the soppy northern twats.
RM
it is here:
LINK
yeah, cuellar should be pronounced like a yeh sort of sound
like cue-y-er i guess
spanish does help :)
even if only im still in school
and why are you newcastle fans even on this blog? it says AVFC Blog, so unless you've got something positive to say, get off!
PS how is newastle a 'bigger' club, can someone 'truthfully' explain without any bias-ness. last i remembered, we're actually in europe so, yeah....
You can often gauge how good a player is by the screams that come from the fans when heâ€s about to be sold. Judging by the amount of Toon fans squealing here Milner must be quite good. When he played for us before he was very young and he was impressive then. Playing for the Villa now, who have a far higher quality squad than Newcastle, can only make him better.
What have we learned in the last 2 or 3 days. Amongst other things, that Rangers fans are gentlemen and have character, and that toon fans are deluded monkeys . You have to feel sorry for them. They have a manager who believes the higher echelons of the premier league are inaccessible, an owner who doesnâ€t trust the manager over the purchase of players and a ragged squad with no confidence.
To be fair Newcastle have quite a few FA Cups wind and a pre UEFA cup win, and they do have a great fan base, because a part from Sunderland their catchment area for fans is massive.
But the geography of the City has always been a problem, big players don't wanna go there, they wanna be in London or Manchester or a short journey from either, and if they do go they realise what goldfish bowl situation they have entered and wanna leave after a season.
Newcastle will always be a good club but never a major player.
What Station is covering the game? If any....
Just spotted it's on 5.
18:50 UEFA Cup Football ;D
wow the titles of yr artical really throw me! i was all excited there! tho i must say damien, i was quite critical of your opinions early on, but u have swayed me. as long as ncr is not mentioned we will be happy!
is this uefa match on telly anywhere, ive been living in thailand and im v outta touch rite now!
on biased pundits, ever hear the big man mcinally??!!!
we need a top winger, creative midfielder, and a top striker (and perhaps a back up rb, but gardener will sufice) and we really will be just as good as pool
Top 5 premier league teams FACT(QUOTED FRM PREM MAGAZINE) :

cooler thats how u prounounce it
f u newcastle
Spanish pronounce double L as Y and CU as QU and in this case E as A
So it is phonetically kwayar
NO LLs please!
Hilarious how all the geordies come out in force to defend their shit team. Where did you finish last season? What notable addition have you made to the club since the season has ended, fuck all? I am constantly amused by the disillusioned fans of Newcastle, ok you have a big stadium and get 50,000 fat pasty geordies packed in to worship a has-been manager who guided you to a staggering 12th place in the premiership on a whopping 43 points. I remember us whalloping you 4-1 last season…
Milner has been at Villa and if you'd like to check your facts he almost became a villa player, i'll pay your moms gas bill for a month and bet you a tenner that we'll land Milner by the end of the week. That tenner should be a nice weekend out for you and your family in that shithole you call a city.
PS - nodrog I think your missus is in the 2nd half of this video LINK
milner 6million bargain.. although it seems he has been round for ages but still only 22, would be a brilliant signing and would improve immensely under martin's wing, would also improve chance of playing for his country i feel and he would realise this himself so would probably welcome a move to the us....
I'd rather see Maloney play before Milner. It's about time the lad got a run in the first team ahead of Petrov
i think the geordies are just upset because keegan had been following cuellar all summer, someone should of told him to get out the taxi and chat to him though mind you with dennis wise doing the talks with any hopeful signing they not gonna get anyone
Hahaha, you will sell him geordies because your stupid chairman has got you £27 million in debt this season you will do nothing and next summer all your 1 best players (owen) will leave. Plus Keegan is an absolute nutjob and will probably quit before then.
Im surprised that all you Villans have time to write anything. Shouldn't you all be all at your local mosques.
Sorry but its sour grapes for Toonsiders because they missed out on Cueller because they are flat broke.
Euro Bob - Being a Toon fan you may need to change your name to Middle table Mediocrity Bob.
Sorry Cladge but your facts are incorrect. I dont think Liverpool will feature that highly!
Reggie - How can you call Villa fans delusional when there are Geordies on here saying you are better?! You may get one up on us if we give you more than a bag of crisps and dip for Alan Smith, but until that day happens shut it!
i seem to remember at the beginning of the window after initially saying he wasnt for sale nfc then announced he could go for £10m ..
if we start the biddin at 6m maybe we could get him for abou 8m.(fair price)
cant see them holdin out at this time in the window when i also think he will be beggin to join us as are far superior club and team.
martin o neill should bring in james milner it would be a great signing who cares about gareth barry he dont want to be there no more so let him go milner would be a great signing and replacement
wow, i got to be honest, but are all you newcastle fans just that stupid.
i actually feel sorry for you if you think what you are saying is true. if you really believe that you are a better team, i think a look around you trophy cabinet at st james park is in order.
sorry made a mistake...... there is trophys at st james park................exeter city's st james park.
hahahahahahahahahahahaha :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
can any of you geordie knobheads give me a link to a newcastle blog that i dont have to register to?
1) Newcastle is a dump? ha ha have you been? (it was voted in the top 5 uk cities to visit) No mention of Birmingham?
2) Birminghan has one of the highest unemployment rates at 5.7%! (Toon 3.4%) GIROs?????
Yes you have a better football team at present but stick to the football talk you morons!
Why don't you Newcastle fans act and express yourselves with a bit of decorum, style and panash, and accept the "Inevitable" just as the Rangers fans have!...you ignorant gits!
newcastle was voted in the top 5 uk cities to visit by the east cost mainline magazine, and the last time i traveled on it only stops at 5 cities between London and scotland.
Any news on if barry as traveled with the squad
Yeah newcastles a beutiful city with all the fugly fat slags with their fat arses and tits hanging out on a sat night and the blokes botlling each other, lovely.
hahahaha....newcastle are shit!!
Didn't big John score 100 goals past them that day at Villa Park last season???
if i was a nufc fan i would be more worried of keegan p;ssing of before milner lets face it the mans a bottler bit of pressure and off hes goes crying in his wallet cause hes made a nuff money out of u dicks
TO ALL NEWCASTLE FANS -
7 league titles, 7 FA cups, 5 league cups, european cup and super cup. What have you won? I will give you a clue, it starts with 'F' and ends in 'uck all' !
Lulu - I couldn't have put it better myself.
@Damian: Shouldn't this comment be deleted?
Im surprised that all you Villans have time to write anything. Shouldn't you all be all at your local mosques.
A lot of class those Geordies have, backwards part of the world and clearly all dangerously delusional.
In a recent interview MON indicated that if Liverscum did not finish the transfer saga, GAZBAZ had every chance of being on the flight to Iceland. So, Did GAZ BAZ get on the flight to Iceland? For me, this IS his final chance to recommit to villa. If not, then i think its as good an indication he's still desperate to leave. So, lets hope that if Liverscum don't come up with the money, he enjoys playing in the reserves.
Leroy
'Sorry Cladge but your facts are incorrect. I dont think Liverpool will feature that highly!'
sad but true m8 .. i have it in black and white. but hey it shows where we belong. TOP END OF THE TABLE
NEWSFLASH!
BIG CLUB NEWCASTLE WIN WOODEN SPOON
LINK#more
JUST A LINK FROM A CRAPPY GEORDIE BLOG, ITS ABOUT ALL THERE LIKELY TO WIN IN THE NEXT DECADE ATLEAST.
AVFC
I thought Milner was excellent when he was here on loan and it would be a shame to miss out on him like we did before. Get him in here pronto, more young English talent for the Villa!
Well, I always hear about how the geordies think Newcastle are a big club, but now I've just experienced it first hand. Can anybody say 'delusional'.
Now i was pissed off the other day with the liverpool fans, because although they talk alot of sh*te they do have a great history and superior trophy cabinet to ourselves. However you geordie boys have merely proven the point that all football fans already no, which is that Newcastle fans are the most dillusional set of fans in the league!!!
We've got a better chairman, manager, first team, squad, history and a far brighter future. Whether we end up signing milner or not, villa is a step up from newcastle!
You've gone backwards in the last 5 years and will continue to because you still don't seem to realise that you need a defence, squad and some team spirit. Your club seems to have absolutely no strategy or plan, build a solid team and squad like ourselves and everton for example! Doesn't help that your the ficklest fans in the league. King kev will be keegan out in 2 months!!
Good luck, i predict 13th, behind sunderland!!!
How did this board suddenly become like the BBC606 boards?!
Reading some of the posts from the Barcodes is pure comedy and it always comes down to how many fans St James` holds, our Clubs bigger than yours blah blah blah Derby and Notts County have more Silverware than the magpies.
Your just as boring as the `pool fans, quite simply go back on your own blogs.
Damian keep up the good work, you get a quite a bit of unjust criticism but at least you pulled your finger out and started a Blog which is more than some people have done.
Up The Villa!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i only think MON would sign De La Red if we sold Barry
I've always respected the Newcastle fans, i especially think they offer great support for their club whatever is going on, on and off the pitch.
However the comments made by many of their so called fans on this site today has really alarmed me. I hope they read this and think about some of the things they have said. Some very bitter and idiotic comments.
9m is going in for Milner at some point... not imminently though
i hear things about an 11m deal for jaoquin...apparently there's a medical on friday...have you heard anything to back this up damien??
Newcastle Fans are just pure mugs they have no one else to support in there City so 50,000 people turn up on weekends to watch poor unattractive football...I mean WOW Jonas Guttierrez he will absolutly set the world alight LOL but Villa a small club with no ambition according to the morons from up north in a Booze britain town of Newcastle think we a small club even though we have the BEST young english 11 in the league.
What have NEWCASTLE EVER WON ? Answer Sweet F**K ALL
Welcome James you will be truly appreciated!!!!
Oh i thought of something Newcastle have won....The How To Waste Money Extremely Quickly Award
when they opened the trophy room at nufc 2 german soldiers jumped out notknowing the war was over come on milner you know u want 2 play at the villa the prospects this season is looking good
Marcus Berg, a young swede playing for Heerenveen would be a great signing for the future. A natural hard working 20 goal/season attacker in say 1-2 years. He is the perfect MON typ of signing, little to expensive thou... around 10 mil euro UTV!!!!! ;D ;D
Break in at the st james park trophy room, newcastle police have warned people 2 b on the look out 4 some idiot tryin 2 sell a black n white rug! U may have a bigger stadium but wot have u won compared 2 us, wheres your european cup etc!? Great night on the lash up there though, wont deny that!
To all your geordies, you're pathetic, cos nothing exciting ever happens with your club, you have to write on our blog and try to slate us, now, what was the score last season???? and the season before weren't 2 of your players bitch fighting??? Your pathetic you northern pr***s!!! There is one good thing about Newcastle your girlfriends and probably your wifes are an easy lay and they love the southern c**k!! Oh and you all think you are going to do well now cos KING F'ing Kev is back we'll see, but seeing your chairman didnt realise that when he bought the club there was an extra 27m still owed to former players, i wouldn't expect to be spending alot of money before the end of the month, and as for owen he's a has been, how many times has he been injured since you've had him?!?!?! As for the comment about us playing the long ball?!?!?!?! Obviously doesn't watch MOTD or by maybe the only put it on for the last 5 mins when they show newcastle getting beaten again!!
Break in at st james park trophy room, newcastle police r askin people 2 look out 4 an idiot tryin 2 sell a black n white rug! U may have a bigger ground in your 1 club city but wheres your european cup, etc! Great night on the lash up there though, i wont deny that!
who cares about newcastle? they are a non-entity. absolutely irrelevant in the football world. contributed nothin an won nothing. not exactly a shining beacon for english football and its history. they arent even the best team in the north east. its between sunderland an middlesbrough!!!!!
so gareth barry said he is ready and willing to play in tomorrows match
boys...boys....boys
Having just got in to see all the Milner stuff and sad Geordies, I think it's great news. He'll do well at Villa.
Re: the comment about Mosques - leave it in. It highlights the Geordies' insular bigotry just nicely thanks.
oh god these toon fans make me laff, they're the biggest bunch of mugs going, they win fcuk all season in season out.."Waay yaa its gunna be our season" They aint won sh*t for 40yrs.... id love to see there wage bill...mug offs
Sh*t me what do these Geordie's put in their drink. Talk about delusions of grandeur!!!! I thought our nuckle dragging neighbours from Small Heath were bad. Can you imagine what BULLSH*T would emit from their near scottish vocals if they actually won something. F*CK me the name of Aston Villa is on the coveted trophy in domestic football in the entire WORLD. The Byker Grove squad would still be playing with themselves if that had ever happened and I tell YOU IT AIn't ever gonna happen EVER you pathetic idiots. 1 Kevin Keegan LOL
NUFC - SHIT HISTORY - WORSE FUTURE
AVFC - PROUD HISTORY - BRIGHT FUTURE
oh and for all the barcodes who lost the debate who has the better football club and lowered themselves to who has the better city well please elaborate as you don't come close in that either....do something useful and go and dredge the sh*T out the Tyne u dirty SMOGGERS.
NEWCASTLE - Small smoggy toon sorry town SH*t hole
CITY OF BIRMINGHAM - Diverse International CITY
whats the latest odds on newcastle getting relegated?
the barcodes are 14/1 on sky bet... a lot worse the sunderland who are 11/2....
while the gordies are skint why dun we bid 5 or 6 mil and get owen too, he must be begging to leave
to sam_villa 1 ;
It's "Kwayah"
(I speak Spanish)
It appears Villa v Newcastle has started early ! Don't wanna get involved myself but just to say Milner would be good for around £6m...don't think he's worth any more though.
UP THE VILLA ;)
By the way...WALES AVFC, in answer to your question:
Because he's crap ! lol
UTV :D
I can't be bothered to read all these posts form Newcastle fans... yawn!
The point about being a one-city team is aboslutely right. I lived in Leeds for a while and they thought they were the centre of the universe because there was no sanity valve. Clearly Villa have a greater history than Newcastle but... so has our manager! He personally has achieved more than your club in its entire history, whether you choose his playing career OR as a manager - either. Crawl back under your piece of coal.
Dumb, just dumb.
I dunno if anybody saw the Liverpool game tonight but whilst they were poor and Alonso and Plessis are hardly the most formidable pair to be up against, Steven Defour in the middle of the park for Standard Liege was absolutely class i thought....reckon we could get him on the cheap for our centre mid....only 20 but looked to have it all...... only one game though i guess, still just a thought
Sunderland & Fulham could be suprise packages this year ( I mean top half not top 6 )
Newcastle I predict between 13th -16th
Milner at 6m could be a steal, I can't see him losing value by coming here, if anything an 8m player next year as I'm sure Liverpool will try to demonstrate!
----------
Look, I'm not into insults and mindless slagging matches, so I'll go with simply this to meet you're requests.
I agree.....we have a better football team than you.
The mighty Steve
totally agree with you there mate. thats bang out of order
rather SWP than Milner to be honest
Milner - Good buy if it comes
Agree with the comments on Thompson - I heard he's statement and thought maybe Parry's asked him to put his nose in - And my God he's got a big nose at that - I wish Sky would dump some of these biased pudits - trying to unsettle Barry again - Anyway Liverpool looks like all your criminal tactics aren't working - What a joy last night watching you really struggle against a Belgium side - I've never known a team with luck like you!
I think he would be a good addition for 7-8 Million. Him and Ashley could switch wings all day long and terroise defeneces.
Sign him up.
Damian, do you know if the DLR deal depends on Barry staying or going? Hope not.
