Neville consortium has Martin O'Neill in the bag

If you believe what you read on ESPN then you've got to believe that Michelle Neville has Martin O'Neill in the bag as the next Aston Villa manager, should he gain control of our club.

The exact phrase, in case you can't be bothered to go and have a look, according to ESPN is 'I think the management position is the most important and that is the first port of call. We have someone lined up to come in.

'They are pre-committed to come in and I think people would be pretty excited. What Premiership club wouldn't want Martin O'Neill?

'He has been in for the England job and has been linked with Newcastle and Sunderland. He is top of the tree. He is a fantastic manager.'

If Martin O'Neill wants to become the next manager of Aston Villa then I'm afraid I find it very difficult to believe that he won't become the next manager of Aston Villa while Doug Ellis is in control.

Martin O'Neill is no fool and to think that he'll become the next manger only if a consortium led by Michelle Neville gets control then it doesn't make sense. Maybe I'm fuelling the fire by even mentioning this but it doesn't make sense.

Aston Villa needs to be purchased by an individual and not by a group or consortium. The future of our club is as stake right now and Doug needs to do what is best for Aston Villa and not just himself.
