New crest for Aston Villa and possibly a new kit manufacturer

Tuesday, 16 January 07, 05:37 AM · Comments (18)

Does crest mean badge? I'm assuming so for now and you can have a say in what it looks like and says here.

Richard FitzGerald, talking to the official website for the first time I believe said "This is a fresh start for the club and the chairman and board are keen to liaise with supporters on as many key decisions as possible."

Well, if you're interested go answer the survey, but what about the thousands of fans that don't have access to the internet. Don't they have a say?

Also, according to sources, Hummel are dropped for next season and a new kit manufacturer is in play. This is the rumour part of the post but according to this person we're going to love the new one.

I would like to see the old circular badge back on the kit, like we had in the 80's

I'd like to see the 1982 badge as well as a star incorporated to show our achievements in Europe. It's part of our history and heritage and should be displayed with pride.

I opted for the old school badge rather than the 80's one. I'd also like a start but dont think it would fit with the older badge and from what I understand its against Premiership rules ...

80's round badge on chest with ADDIDAS above it.

Retro kit (like what manure are wearing), if it was addidas on the claret home kit imagine blue stripes running down the shoulder and arms, continuing down the side of the shirt to meet the stripes running down the outer thighs.

the awy kit in white with claret stripes............awesome.

any news on my stan petrov book people???

I would be glad to see hummel go,didnt really like their things. Might have a chance of getting Reebok next season with their large connection to all the american football kits etc.

I think changing the badge would be a excellent start to the villa revolution. I would like to see a modern version of the 80's circular badge, with also a star included to show our european cup succses. Also a new better known kit sponsor to make the appearance of aston vila more trendy!!!

But no star, unless we ever get to play in the Champions League. To put the star on there for prem games would be a bit sad, i'm sure Forrest would look very silly having theirs on the shirts in Div 3!

what about a square one, or a diamond one like in the 1800s. seeing as the premiership wont allow a star, how about a star shaped badge. or how about two circles above each other, one a globe the other a football with a banner winding round them saying aston villa football club. i think dkny would suit our new rich club style for the kits, what about a skirt for baros?

it has to be the 82 badge but just updated! if you see what the baggies and arsenal have done to theres then i think we need to go in that direction

the retro stuff is all the rage and you can't beat the late 70s early 80s jerseys.get rid of that jazzy 90s look badge. keep it simple, classy with a top kit manufacturer.

i think that sam k should waste his time on the blues site instead of on here up the villa!!
i also think a new badge would be nice but the one at the momment is lovely but a new kit sponsor is a great idea maybe someone like nike?

Its our nickname! Why do we never see him anymore? I always thought he was a great emblem for us.

Does anybody have a picture of him?

Lets keep the rampant as our first badge, but our second emblem 'The Villan' seems to have been put to the back of the shelf over the last 15 years. Why?...its excellent and should also be promoted, the Villan is part of our history and needs a return.

Well said Steve! I have been a Villa fan since the mid 1960's & The Villa Villan was one of my first memories as a kid.

Even if he is'nt on the kit it would be nice to see him used more. It would be a shame if he was forgotten!
COME ON YOU VILLA, BRING BACK THE VILLAN!!!!!!!!!!!
