New website for the club, no Reo-Coker medical and Defoe set to sign

Tuesday, 03 July 07, 04:01 AM · Comments (13)

There is a new club website coming and the club are looking for any suggestions you might have. I've sent mine off and when it's done we'll do a little comparison and see what, if anything, they've taken on board.

The irony is, I don't think it's design they've got to be concerned about but content. Content is king on the web and I just switch off too often when I'm on the official club site. Anyway, if you've got any suggestions click here and let the club know.

Onto other news this morning and one that contradicts mostly every newspaper this morning and yesterday; Nigel Reo-Coker hasn't had a medical at Villa according to his agent.

His agent, Tony Finnegan told BBC London "Where we are at now is that we are waiting for the two clubs to agree a price. There has been no medical. The lad is been waiting to go on holiday."

So, I guess it all depends on who you believe and what you think the club are doing? It sounds like the player is keen to come and it is just about the club paying the extra £1mn. because it sounds like it's all coming down to the money.

In other news or in this case speculation, this blogger is very much under the impression that the club made an enquiry for Jermain Defoe and Spurs welcomed the telephone call; over six weeks ago.

The player is apparently aware of the interest, has even has his agent speak to the club and it's also, as the Reo-Coker deal, pretty much a done deal. We just have to wait for the two clubs to agree a price and a look after a couple of formalities.

I will also say someone is saying Wright Phillips is also a done deal and later today or tomorrow we will tell you who the new right back target is.

So, I'm about to bugger off again for the day because I'm more convinced than ever that what Doc suggested last week is going to happen and when it does we'll get plenty of notice. That and I'm on holiday, so I'm going to have a fry-up and maybe a beer or two.

Shaun is the 1 I want to see arrive, Reo Coker is coming and Defo playing off Carew would be special, Martin is building to a big 4 way signing (inc right back) along with the new shirt, which is just waiting for the new sponser.....Keep em peeled!!!

There's an official website? ;)

It's about time they sorted out the content. The design is ok for me, I can navigate around it if need be. Unfortunately I never visit it because they fill it with nothing stories all the time. The usual weekly big-up from GB doesn't interest me after seeing it for the 73rd time...

I'm bored of speculation but I am getting frustrated at Newcastle and Birmingham (probably me 2 most disliked clubs so it's biased!) signing good players when we're not signing everyone. Maybe we'll come and blow them out of the water, but if we don't then they'll both be above us next season.

I had a dream that we signed Riquelme. Stranger things have happened...

Everton have been forced into an embarrassing climbdown after their website claimed they had agreed a deal for Juan Roman Riquelme.

A story appeared on the website on Monday morning claiming that the Argentine was on his way from Villarreal.

The 'news' quickly spread on Everton forums, where rumours of a swoop for Riquelme have been fostered over the past month despite the former Barcelona player being on the verge of a move to Atletico Madrid.

The story was quickly removed from the Everton website, where a statement appeared claiming the article was 'completely untrue and appeared as a result of a technical error that occurred during some maintenance work on the site'.

I remember the previous official website which was spot on in terms use and feel, then the change came along and the current website was born with its corporate unfriendly feel.
My choice would be to keep the site simple and dedicated to the fan like it used to be. Yes it needs to be corporate as well but this should be accessible by links not shoved in your face.

Our new site will look truely wonderfull i send some comments into the site that i would like to see changed and added one thing i have notice is we have a link on our site to the clevland browns yet they havent got a link on there site to our site it would be good if they could put us on there site as it gets the name out and about in U.S.A also the new kit is out the this comming month cant wait for that it will be the best kit so far i reakon and to be sponserd by nike is even better not many teams in premsership are sponserd by nike only 4 i think and we are one of them we really are going places this will be the best year since 1982 when we won the European Cup i also think a big praise should go out to Tony McAndrew who has done a brilliant and fantastic job with the youth team and sysetem

Reports have circulated that Defoe was considering his future at White Hart Lane following the recent arrival of Darren Bent from Charlton.

England international Defoe has rejected the rumours and says he is happy to fight for his place in Martin Jol's plans as he prepares for the coming season.

In a statement Defoe said: "I'm really excited about the new season and prospect of another campaign in Europe.

"We have made some good signings and our squad is now stronger and even better equipped to compete in all competitions.

"We have competition for places in all positions and that can only be good for
Can we now forget about defoe pls a more realistic target is bellamy now that liverpool have singed fernando torres.
