Nothing to spend, no-one to lend, boring boring transfer window

Friday, 06 January 06, 01:27 PM · Comments (0)

It was late in December when Damian pointed out here that Doug has, in recent years, removed managers by pressure rather than the sack.

Is this really why we've got no cash to spend in the transfer window?

While everyone else is playing around with their cash reserves and silly agents ready to cash in selling one of their clients, Villa are doing diddly squat.

Yep, we're letting every other team (except Sunderland) out buy us. Again.

I know Deadly might want rid of O'Dreary, but we might as well buy a player or two for the latter part of the season.

I thought we had a million or two pounds left over from the sumemr budget?

That's right, O'Blarney said he was saving money back for a centre-back in January.

So what's happened?

Deadly Doug will tell you: He wants rid of O'Leary and doesn't wanna pay.

Things look to be getting better, but we need to strengthen the squad. I know Europe is quickly fading, but we've got hope and we must play like O'Leary's first season.

Maybe some of the players find it hard to motivate themselves for DOL, so it would be good to bring a couple of new faces in just in case DOL doesn't leave by the end of the season.

Whatever the case, it's going to be a pretty dull January if you're a Villa fan...
