O'Leary bemoans the squad... again

Tuesday, 14 February 06, 12:51 PM · Comments (0)

The guy's like a stuck record. And an irritating one at that.

David O'Dreary has today come and moaned about the size of the squad... again.

Talk about annoying your employers- that is public criticism of the chairman and the board in general.

Why can't he manage with what he's got? Because he's not good enough.

O'Leary needs to spend money because he can't deal with the resources he's got.

He may joke about putting his boots back on, but he's just got to get on with the job. He knew what it entailed when he took over and if he was good enough we'd have finished higher last season and he'd have had more money to spend.

If he didn't waste money on people like Wilfred Bouma, Eirik Bakke or Mathieu Berson then we would have the resources to have got a defender in.

I mean, we've got enough midfielders so why get another one in on loan?

You can't moan about not having enough players when you've got ones that you aren't going to play. Take Lee Hendrie for example.

It's obvious now that O'Leary just doesn't like him. Why get Bakke in when Hendrie can do the same job?

I think O'Leary should shut his face and stop embarassing us with stupid comments and get-out clauses.

He might as well just say "we might be rubbish, but it's the board's fault, not mine."

It might fool the rest of the footballing world, but it doesn't fool me or many of the other Villa faithful.

It's about time he stopped patronising the club, it's board and it's fans.

He's not doing anyone any favours, least himself.

Think O'Leary was right to criticise the board? Let me know luke@astonvilla.biz.
