O'Leary will never learn

Tuesday, 03 January 06, 12:52 PM · Comments (0)

After the match yesterday O'Leary told the BBC "A few people came out of the woodwork after that Cup defeat and started writing articles and opinions. We let ourselves down in that game but, before that, even with all the injuries, our form has been excellent."

Even against West Ham when Aston Villa lost 4-0 and you had every player fit and available apart from Martin Laursen?

He really should learn to keep his mouth shut and leave his talking to the players on the pitch.

It's not just about a few matches it's about where Aston Villa finish this season and how they play football - he has finished in worse position every singel season as a manager and I'm fed up with the long ball.

The few people that O'Leary talks of are not all of a sudden picking up on one bad result but a whole managerial career.

He's got lucky over the Christmas period and now, when games start to spread out again, he's going to be start to see the other teams catch up - the only thing he can hope for is that the confidence in the team carries through for the next few matches.

The people calling for his head started a long time before the Doncaster match - the Doncaster match simply gave it national exposure.

Aston Villa have had a good run but I still believe David O'Leary should go, for the long term benefit of Aston Villa Football Club.

Twenty-five points from 21 games says it all.
