O'Neill looking for a new right back?

It's not really new news as we all knew it would happen. Phil Bardsley is heading back to Manchester United after his load spell with the club expires at the end of the season.

Shortly after arriving at Villa Park Bardsley spoke as if he would like to stay and told us he was enjoying himself. After the first few games I was quite impressed.

It's also clear that Martin O'Neill doesn't quite like Aaron Hughes playing at right back so it's fair to assume that a right back is on the shopping list.

I'm not entirely sure after the last few games if Martin O'Neill would have even pursued the Bardsely move but it has confirmed to us that he wants someone new in.

A thank you to Phil Bardsley. He came in and did a job when called upon. You can't ask for much more from a player on loan.

Thought Bardsley started very well for us and I would have liked us to have gone for him but thought his perfomances dwindled a bit and he made a few mistakes but overall he is better than Hughes. The way things are going for us, we need a WORLD CLASS right back. Cheers Phil for giving us 100% and good luck for the future.

Also, see Joey Barton is suspended for rest of the season, he will definitely be off in the summer. Martin get him in!!!

Bardsley didnt do much wrong, but did he really do anything that Hughes didnt?

Bardsley played good for us and hopefully he would of learn't a lot from his spell at Villa, just like when we made Milner wicked. my choice for a right back would be Freidrich, Richards or Vanden Borre.

Huge sigh of relief if he is truly gone. Not enough attacking quality and defence was average, although at least better than Hughes. I like Delaney very much but he is too prone to injury.
I hope we replace him with someone who is either taller or who at least can jump and win balls in the air.
