RAL get over 90% and Aston Villa is about to become a private company again

Mr Lerner has now obtained over 90% shareholder acceptance from his offer and he will now buy the remaining shares to make it to 100% and take Aston Villa Football Club into private ownership.

This was very much a formality that we all knew was going to happen. All we need now is investment in January, kick on to Europe at the end of this season and then let the good times roll.

Aston Villa have all the ingredients to become a great club again. It's just needed the right chef; hopefully in Mr Lerner we have the next Gordon Ramsey or Jamie Oliver.
