Randy Lerner has 85% of Aston Villa

In an announcement to the London Stock Exchange this morning RAL confirmed they had just over 85% of the shares in Aston Villa Football Club.
Although we all knew, this now confirms Mr Lerner as the new majority shareholder (soon to be owner) of Aston Villa Football Club. The original offer has also been extended until 1.00pm on 18 September 2006 to allow RAL time to obtain the necessary 90%, made conditional in the original offer.
