In what is for me the biggest surprise of the transfer window Robbie Fowler has rejoined Liverpool on a free from Manchester City.
Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce said he couldn't stop Fowler and the player himself said he prayed for this move.
Fowler in his day was by far the best striker in the Premiership and a player like that doesn't lose his quality - he may put on a few pounds and slow down a bit but give Fowler a sniff of goal, a half a yard or half a second start and more often than not he'll score.
He could make his return to the Liverpool team on Wednesday night when Liverpool take on Birmingham City at Anfield. I'm sure he'll get on the bench and if Liverpool are leading with a few minutes to go I have a sneaky felling he'll get to go on and possibly one of the best receptions we've seen from the Kop in many years and many to come.
