Rumours today include Sidwell and Wesley Sneijder

Wesley Sneijder plays for Ajax and apparently Manchester United are also interested in the player if you believe what you read in the News of the World.

Sneijder is 22 years old, plays in midfield and in 121 games for Ajax has scored 38 goals. He was a product of the famous Ajax youth system and is part of the national squad.

Sneijder made his debut in 2002 when Danny Blind (then youth team coach) recommended him to Koeman who was struggling with injuries. Sneijder quickly established himself in the role of midfield general, despite his slight stature. He is strong on the ball and he can play with both feet.

Steve Sidwell is the other rumour and correct me if I'm wrong but he's a free agent in the summer so as of January this year he can talk to clubs and sign pre-transfer contracts.

I'd like Sidwell for the squad and I think he'd be a valuable addition but he's only had one season in the Premiership and we often see players out performing for a season. Still, it's all rumour so none of it really matters.

I'd like sneijder but I'd rather get reo-coker than sidwell. Reports are that davo will leave if another attacking CM is bought, but I'd rather petrov left than davo. We need a right-back, goalkeeper, sriker, winger and two midfielders. I'd like to see :

Craig Gordon (GK)
Glenn Johnson (DR)
Wesley Sneijder
Shaun Wright-Phillips
Dave Nugent
Jean Makoun

There are some fine suggestions there, we really need 3 good creative midfielders. We're lacking a bit of oomph in midfield, particularly as Steven Davis is off form currently, and Petrov hasn't adapted to the Premiership yet.

We also need a good centre-back and a full-back that can come forward, someone in the mould of Ashley Cole, Wayne Bridge, Gary Neville et al. I think Mellberg should be replaced as he's only got another season in him as a top defender.

i would like to see sidwell and sneijder at the claret and blue but not wright philips or johnson. wright philips is over rated by the english media, like everyother english player. they some how become the best in their position, if not the world as soon as they join one of the "TOP FOUR" or even have a good game against one of the "TOP FOUR". i would like to see steve finnan, reo coker or barton, sidwell, sneijder, huntelaar, klose and a big center half but that would be askin too much maybe just three or four.

The Dutchman would be an excellent signing. i personally feel that Villa need to strengthen in all areas on the field. Firstly a new goalkeeper - Frey, Boruc or Kirkland. Defenders - Kompany, Vanden Borre or Freidrich. Midfielders - Reo-coker, Kalstrome, Whilhelmson, shaun Wright Pillips. Strikers - Nugent, Eidur Gudjonsen, Jermaine Defoe. anyway lets see wat hapens, up THE VILLA!!!
