According to the media hype, Stilian Petrov is gonna be our first signing.
But is he really good enough?
The Premiership is viewed as one of the best leagues in the world, while the Scottish Premier League is often compared to the Championship.
Don't get me wrong, Celtic are a great team; but are they good enough to compete in the Premier league and do their players have what it takes to play top level football?
Petrov might have scored 60 odd goals in 300+ appearances for Celtic since he joined them from CSKA Sofia in 1999, but will he get a similar return in the Premiership?
I wouldn't like to speculate, but some of the best SPL players ply their trades in the Championship these days for teams like Leicester and Southampton.
Henrik Larsson left Celtic and managed one season with Barcelona.
I'm not being pessimistic, but there's a world of difference between the Scottish Premier league and the English Premiership...

Petrov is a great player, which you'll now know but it's your comment on Larsson that has left me amazed.
Henrik Larsson completed two seasons with Barcelona. He was offered a new contract at the end of last season but point blank refused in favour of a return to Helsingborg.
He came on as a subsitute in the Champions League Final and changed the game.
He won the European Golden Boot.
He holds the record for number of goals scored for a British club in European matches.
He scored 242 goals in 315 matches for Celtic.
He scored 36 times for Sweden in 93 caps.
He was voted the all time best Swedish player last year.
He has scored in 3 World Cups and 2 Euro's.
He is only the 6th player to score in World Cup's that are 12 years apart.
Tribute by Ronaldinho:
"With Henrik leaving us at the end of the season this club is losing a great scorer, no question. But I am also losing a great friend. Henrik was my idol and now that I am playing next to him it is fantastic."
Tribute by Henry:
"People always talk about Ronaldinho, and everything but I didn't see him today - I saw Henrik Larsson. Two times he came on - he changed the game, that is what killed the game - sometimes you talk about Ronaldinho and Eto'o and people like that, you need to talk about the proper footballer who made the difference and that was Henrik Larsson tonight..."
GIRUY fool.
