Sunderland 1 Aston Villa 3

Saturday, 19 November 05, 04:42 PM · Comments (0)

Luke is at the match today so we're going to leave the match report to him but get ready for an open top parade around Birmingham tomorrow. Aston Villa have won by two clear goals!

Okay, it was against Sunderland who are bottom of the table and they had conceded an average of two goals every game this season but it's a win!

I suspect David O'Leary is going to use the result as a vehicle to talk about how he wants to be judged in the new year and how he's nearly got everyone back fit and how honest the lads were.

No doubt most of it will be blarney and I still believe he should go but I've got a feeling many will start backing him as the best thing since sliced bread until he loses the next two.

One result doesn't all of a sudden make David O'Leary a good manager - it was only Sunderland! Out of respect for the victory we won't mention the petition.
