Are the club going to follow the 'so-called majority' and change the club badge or has this whole survey turned out to be a waste of time for everyone involved?
The answer is, I suspect, that they're going to use what the 'so-called majority' picked and if you're like me you probably think this is wrong. Or will they?
While I applaud the club in trying to get the views of supporters and the personal touch is all very nice, they don't need to and I really don't think they should be doing this, to this extent. In defence of the club, I can see the 'good publicity' and it's not costing them anything other than time.
While they will get things right they're also going to get things wrong; this survey, along with the Supporter Consultation Group don't work for me for several reasons but mainly because all the questions raised, they already know and they know they should be fixing. If they don't know these things then an awful lot of people, who are getting paid by the club, are not doing their jobs.
Let's just get something else straight; it's not a crest, it's a badge. Also, it's only 4,500 people that have responded and I for one answered at random to demonstrate it was all wrong. How many fans of other clubs could have got online and answered?
Some of the results can be seen on the club site but one of the most surprising ones that I read was that 80%, that's 3,600 (less than 10% of the people that attended the last home match against Everton) people opted to have a star incorporated into the new badge to represent the European Cup win.
For the love of everything that is sane please do not follow the clicks of those 3,600 people.
When we are allowed to have a star over the badge put one on but do not make it part of our badge; it would be embarrassing. Rather than make it part of the badge get the club back into Europe so we can have it on the 'right way'.
But and this is the big but and where I'm going to leave my ramblings for today, the club won't release something that has been picked by 4,500 supporters because they know they cant.
As I've said above this is just 'good publicity' for the club and the new badge will have had, I'm guessing, a fairly expensive team of people working on it and when it was suggested to them to include a star they would have laughed it off, just as I have and the other 20%.
It's also worth remembering that we now have some fairly intelligent people working for us who will actually think about this a little differently and will look at the next three to five years and probably much longer. How stupid is the kit going to look when we are back in Europe? Our dodgy star and then the proper one above it!
The survey is a shambles but it's all good publicity and it's not hurting any of us, but it will be very interesting to see the new badge, which will be out by the end of the month. I hope I'm not wrong.

Does this site only exist so you can moan. I do not think I have ever read a positive comment from you. What is the point?
this isn't a moan, as you put it, i'm just pointing out the results are a joke because the way they've gone about it is a joke
as for not seeing anything positive; even in this post there is positive. it could be that you fail to see it but it is there
Whilst I originally thought it was a good idea, I now agree wholly with Damian. If the arguement was put as well as that, ie we need to earn the star, then many would have voted against it.
You can't be all things to all men, people obviously want the star, (I think I said no to it), and from the forums General Krulak said that this was something the club was looking at. I agree that we shouldn't have a star for the sake of it, Liverpool, Man Utd, Notts Forest don't have one in their badge/crest so why should we? But they've asked for opinion and then got it, I don't see the point in stressing about it though until we've all seen the badge, then pass you're judgements, ultimately though people will like it and some will not....deal with it.
personally i think getting a new badge is great news. lets face it the present badge is a bit basic and boring. i would just like to make a point, that without criticising u can't progress and improve on things ;)
Shut up! Why is everything I read on this site always so negative. You write like your speaking for the majority but I can assure you that you are not.
Ah Mick. You'll be one of those then that voted to have a star included in the new badge then ... it explains it all.
KEEP THE CREST/BADGE THE WAY IT IS
No Damian, I voted for a badge without a star
fair point Danny. I have become a little dissolusioned with this site in recent months. I see the need for the odd complaint but there are many on here from the site authors. We have a new manager, new owner, new money but that doesnt seem enough. To be honest it makes me not come to this site as often as i used to
I still prefer the round badge from the 80's. Quality! bring that back, and back to the 81/82 shirts please. definatley a more stylish era, Duran Duran also agree with me.
My ideal design is a revamped version of the circular logo with the star above - separate.
(so you can add extra stars when we win again)
