Doug Ellis has resigned and Randy Lerner has assumed control of the good ship Aston Villa. The Randylution has begun and there is no turning back. Thank you Mr Ellis.
Things are going to change at Aston Villa Football Club. I have no doubt we'll see changes throughout the organisation that will ultimately be better for us as customers and supporters. The first change is the entire resignation of the board apart from Steve Stride who remains as an executive director, probably for a reasonable transitional period.
With a bit of luck some new people will be brought in to oversee how the club communicate with the customers, we'll have a new website as soon as we can release ourselves from the clutches of PTV and fingers crossed some of the staff will learn how to respect customers.
More on Business Villa coming up later in the week; just don't go booking anything until you've read what I've got to say. A disgrace from beginning to end.
We know there is going to be some sort of fan representation and the thousand or so Aston Villa fans on the internet all know who it will be. Some agree with it some don't; it doesn't really matter because the irony is one man will own the club and the fans may have a voice but it's the decisions of one man that counts.
Aston Villa today took the first step to becoming great again. Let's see if Mr Lerner is all he's cracked up to be; I think he is but I'd like actual proof.
Goodbye Mr Ellis.
