The Patrick Viera saga went on and on like a Duracell battery and the Henry thing looks to be following a similar path. This time a rumour has surfaced he's house hunting in Spain.
I like Arsenal but I've never liked the boards spending policy. I don't think they've invested heavily enough in the transfer market and take Wenger and his ability to pick up some great youngsters away and I think they'd be in trouble.
I'm taking a rough guess now so if you're an Arsenal fan and I've got it wrong don't bombard me with emails, but if Arsenal have spent more than ?10mn. on transfers a season for the past three years I'd be very surprised. If they want to win the Premiership then they've got to spend more in my opinion. If Henry does leave, which is looking more and more likely to happen then they've got to go out and buy someone to replace him and I'm afraid there are not that many players that can fill his boots.
Arsene Wenger is a great coach but the board can not rely on him always bringing in youngsters on the cheap. If Henry leaves England for Spain I'll be disappointed but not surprised and I don't think any Arsenal fan really would be. I would however be surprised if Arsenal splashed the cash on a replacement.
