Touch and go for Laursen

Wednesday, 10 August 05, 07:36 PM · Comments (0)

It is possible Martin Laursen will miss the opening game of the season against Bolton due to the knee injury that has dogged his Aston Villa career.

Laursen played last Friday in Holland and commented earlier this week "My knee is still not right, I came through the whole game in Holland and it felt alright so I hope it will be ok."

An injury free Laursen and an on form Olof Mellberg would be an awesome combination. Villa conceded 52 goals in the league last season - something not to be repeated again we hope.

The question is who will play in his place if he can't make it - Cahill, Ridgewell or maybe a new signing?
