Villa's Academy side, whose current graduates include Steven Davis and Luke Moore, romped to a 4-0 victory putting them top of the table.

Goals from substitute Morgan Evans, winger Scott Bridges and two from Craig Gardner gave Villa's side a dominant result.

It was 2-0 by half-time, thanks for Evans' 25-yard strike and Gardner's chip, despite Villa's sub-standard display.

An improved performance led Villa to two more goals, with a superb solo effort from Gardner putting the side 3-0 up. Bridges grabbed a header late on to complete the rout and now sit firmly at the top of the FA Premier Academy League.

Villa: Olejnik, Earls, Lowry, O'Halloran, Saunders, McGurk, Kabeya, Bridges, Gardner, Mikaelson, Lund. Subs: Boyle, Phil Green, Evans, Herd, Stieber.
