Villa's potential buyer revealed within a month

Friday, 14 October 05, 02:46 PM · Comments (0)

Doug Ellis today announced that Aston Villa are "proceeding with an inital inquiry" with regards to the potential takeover that has been mooted in the press in recent weeks.

At the clubs AGM he also revealed that the identity and confirmation of a bid will be revealed over the coming month, but nothing more can be said because of Stock Exchange rules.

Other points regarding takeover news were also revealed by our favourite Octogenarian.

A bid for ?47m was rejected from the Ray Ranson's consortium back in July as Ellis is seeking a bid of around ?60m for the club. He also revealed that the new owners of the club must have the best interests of the club at heart.

Maybe Ellis really does love Villa? Mind you, wouldn't you love a club that's been paying you a wage and a dividend for 30-odd years?

Let's hope he finds a suitable investor for the club in the near future.
