West Brom 1 Villa 2

Monday, 02 January 06, 01:56 PM · Comments (0)

Aston Villa beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 today and it was a well deserved result with goals coming from men of the match Steven Davis and Milan Baros.

Albion didn't have that little bit extra needed for a derby match and Villa got the extra luck when they were awarded a penalty when Steve Watson hand balled with ten minutes to go.

Surprised to see Liam Ridgewell dropped to make way for Mellberg and happy also to see Craig Gardner make another substitute appearance.

Villa were up for it and deserved the win - now to Hull on Saturday.
