What O'Leary should have said

Friday, 30 December 05, 10:41 AM · Comments (0)

David O'Leary put his foot in it again last week when he spoke of Milan Baros and the World Cup in Germany.

O'Leary said ?Milan will go to the World Cup next summer and what worries me is him having another outstanding tournament. That would mean us getting offers in for him. That's what would worry me."

What O'Leary should have said was how much he was hoping Baros and all the Aston Villa players taking part in the World Cup in Germany next year put in great performances as it can only help in attracting other players to the club.

Why does O'Leary say these things, I've thought about this for a few days now and I'm still no closer to figuring it out. Because we know David O'Leary the only thing I can think of is he is trying to protect himself from something or make himself look good, but how does this do it for him?

It will be interesting to see what happens in Germany next year.
