We'll start with the one that popped up yesterday; Charles N'Zogbia, because I quite like it. He's 22 years old and currently at Newcastle where he is apparently struggling to get into the team.
Now, you might think we don't need a left back or left sided midfielder and we probably don't, if we're going to be happy with what we've got, but if Martin O'Neill wants to be competing at a higher level, he's going to need these extra players.
You might think I'm crazy and if I were to write that we could win the league this season, I would be, but it's not stupid to believe we can compete for it over the next two or three seasons. Look at how quickly Chelsea did it.
Now, N'Zogbia is a talented player and at 22 years old, he's hopefully going to get better and surely he'd fancy Villa over Newcastle.
Moving on to one that has just popped up on SkySports and a certain Arsenio Halfhuid. Now, I've got to tell you you that I know absolutely nothing about this player, but SkySports understand that we're interested.
Now, if you happen to know anything about this lad, please pop in the comment section below because I've tried to Google him and I've got very little to tell you.
That;'s it for now. They'll be the match live centre later, with minute by minute action and the chat feature and remember, if we win, we go third and you've got to fancy we've got a very good chance, so I'm in confident mood.

There was a nice page in the back of the Sun today with big Terry 'Vegetables' saying we must believe we can win the league!
With the so called big 4 all dropping points this season and Villa picking up 6 points agasint West Ham and Arsenal I think we can win the Fuckin league!
I remember N'ZOGBIA starting well last season, scoring a few goals, coming in from the left, a bit like ASH. I'm not sure whether it was ALLARDYCE that brought him in, but he's certainly rated as a very good skillful player.
I think his confidence was shattered at NUFC by being played out of position then dropped. He's certainly young and probably wants to pove a point...interesting if MON rates him.
He's not British. We'll get Owen.
We may renew our interest in santa cruz now he has come out and said he'd happily leave blackburn

What, with a name like that? You're kidding?
It was Bobby ROBSON that brought him in, and wanted to leave when KEEGAN was in charge.
Excelsior player Arsenio Halfhuid plays for Excelsior in the Jupiter league and graduated from their A-Youth he`s a Defender and is tipped to be one of the best Dutch defenders ina along long while from what i`ve read ;
"Half Skin " ( Halfhuid in English )is a nephew of former Chelsea and Southampton player Ken Monkou.
"De speler werd tijdens wedstrijden in de jeugd van Excelsior ontdekt door de Villa-scouts." =
The player was scouted by our scouts during matches in the youth games of Excelsior
"Volgens SkySports ziet Villa-trainer Martin O'Neill het jonge talent als een grote belofte voor de toekomst." =
According to SkySports Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neil sees the young talent as a great promise for the future.
"Meerdere clubs lijken interesse te hebben in Halfhuid, die eerder in de jeugd van Feyenoord actief ".=
Several clubs seem to have interest in "Half Skin", who earlier played in the youth team of Feyenoord.
Aston Villa hope to bring the player to England before other clubs get involved.
Apartf rom that i know nothing
Soz about the typos! trying to get ready for the Hammers game!
Come on Villa!!!!!!
In all fairness completely agree with you Damian, if you like at the likes of Chelsea, United etc, their so called second teams have the quality to compete with other clubs first teams, which is what we need to have if we are going to truly become a top four team.
If we look at our other squad players they do not have the quality if the Hamburg result is anything to go for, and N'zogbia is one good quality player, been very impressed with him whenever i have seen him play, a very good addition to any squad!
Im gonna give it another 30 mins before this post gets flooded by the toon army saying how N'Zogbia would never leave a big club like newcastle for a little club like villa blah blah blah... It'll be the repeat of the Milner post all over again

Yeah, Tel phonned me yesterday and asked if I'd do the article for him.
Aiming for fourth is no longer our purpose. We're already fourth. The way the results have been going we could finish ahead of Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U and chelsea and still not win the PL.
Arsenal are below Villa yet Wenger states publicly that they can still win the title. He refuses to give it up. Why? Because he wants it so bad. Is he putting pressure on the players? Of course he is. Winners have to be able to bear the pressure. But if they don’t win he won’t abandon them, neither will the fans. Stop being afraid of the pressure – relish it. It’s what winners do.
Ive heard Damian say before now about Owen coming to the Villa and how he likes te idea, which i agree with but we have to remember about Milner! Is Kinnear really going to let another player come to the Villa. I cant see Owen going to Everton condidering the time he had at Liverpool and im sure Villa would pay better than Newcastle have offered him. But N'Zogbia is a good player but is he really good enough to break into the 1st team. Hes not English, so i cant see MON being that interested in him. But we'll wait and see though.
Should be good match today. Lets not be over confident and have another slip and take advantage of 3rd place thats availible!
The problem I think with Owen is going to be the money he demands after running down his contract at Newcastle.
It is also his last big contract because you'd fancy we/whoever sign him for 3 seasons then he'll be 33 when his contract ends and he'll not play top flight anymore - he won't want to.
Now, you might say, but we don't have to pay for him, so we can offer him more, but the politics of that are not as simple. Say he wants £100k a week - because we don't have to pay anything for him - what are Ashley and gabby to think when they are only getting, say £50k a week?
Also, Owen carries a huge risk. What happens when he does get injured and only plays 15 games a season - how can the manager justify that to any other player that comes to him and says 'I want £100k a week!'
If Owen said he'd come and play for £45k a week and then £20k a goal - I'd have that - but then you've got Gabby saying; I want £20k a goal .. so it's a wicked circle.
If Owen wasn't an injury concern it might be different, but he does.
Plewsy, Owen is an Everton fan so I think there is every chance he might end up moving there.
nho8av, Owen is an Owen fan, lol, i do want him to come to the Villa but make no mistakes he will look after number one. He will score bucket loads of goals at the Villa, we create so many chances he will be like a kid in a candy shop. Look how many goals he has scored this season in a weak team.
that dutch kid is cousin to legendary southampton player ken monkou, he must be good if he has the same blood line as him!!!
owen is an england fan, if he wants to get back in that squad he should forget about the money, and come to a team which will help him get back there.
I read that were getting defoe an Ashley Youngs staying
Defoe Is AMAZING
