Why should O'Leary stay?

Sunday, 06 November 05, 09:49 AM · Comments (0)

We believe Doug Ellis gave David O'Leary an ultimatum two weeks ago. We're not sure exactly what that was but surely it couldn't have been 'you've got to play poorly, have no passion and lie to the fans'.

Since the ultimatum we've lost to Manchester City and Liverpool and over the 180 minutes only had 6 shots on target.

Earlier in the week David O'Leary used the takeover as an excuse and yesterday the takeover is definitely not an excuse. We're not sure exactly what is going on with O'Leary.

He said of the penalty decision after the match yesterday "We weren't just hanging on for a draw at that point we were looking for a winner. If anyone was hanging on it was Liverpool." I'm not sure what match he was watching but up to that point Liverpool had had twice as many shots on target than Villa.

It's almost as if he really doesn't know what to do. Of the 14 Premiership matches Liverpool played directly after Europe last season they lost 11. Liverpool do not like playing so soon after a European match and that was evident yesterday.

What was more evident was David O'Leary's inability to make his team play. We want to know why David O'Leary should be kept on.

If you know of any reason for keeping David O'Leary please email them to kevin@astonvilla.biz and we're going to put them up. We can' t think of any so we'd really like to show that the manager has some support.
