If we were not linked with enough current Celtic players some bright spark somewhere has decided to link us with Henrik Larsson, currently at Helsingborgs IF.
Although Henke is currently in Sweden his season is over. He played 10 times for his 'home town' team and scored 6; not a bad return when you consider the standard of football is well below his standard and all you can ask a striker to do is score goals.
From the three or four matches I saw of him this season he did look at different level. His movement and control made the opposition look sub-standard. He's still got something to offer but I'm not sure it's in the Premiership.
The bright spark that started this rumour was none other than Martin O'Neill when he said "It is only May time since he came on and changed a European Cup final, which used to be a relatively important game,"
"So I can't imagine him having lost the sparkle and enthusiasm and fitness in three or four months."
He certainly wouldn't have lost his fitness after playing 10 competitive matches and the sparkle was evident this season in Sweden. I imagine though that Henke is settling down and looking forward to a Swedish Christmas, with lots of snow and possibly quite a bit of gl?gg.
I'm just not convinced at his age he'll be able to shine in the Premiership although if Martin O'Neill wants him and he comes I'm probably going to have to eat my words.
If there was anything you wanted to know about Henke, Wikpedia have outdone themselves again.

Only a few months ago he came on for Barcelona and changes the game. He's still got something to offer the Premier League and with Martin O'Neill he could do that!
Up the Villa!
He is very settled now in Sweden, don't think he would want to lower his standards too much
Celtic
Barcelona
Villa, eh, NO
Henrik Larsson, Bobo Balde, Shaun Maloney all linked with moves to Villa this January. I think the media may be getting carried away with this Celtic => Villa thing, anyone would think we'd signed Chris Sutton, Didier Agathe and Stilian Petrov......
Up the Villa!
