With Martin O'Neill leaving it until the last minute to leave for Newcastle and with the rumour surrounding Shaun Maloney of Celtic gathering momentum it appears he isn't the only player that interests the manager.
High on the list, apparently, is Scott Parker but Newcastle were, again apparently, not interested at the beginning of January however, according to the email we've had in, Juan Pablo Angel has again been offered as part of the deal.
Seems like O'Neill isn't too keen on Angel at the moment and his days are surely now numbered and it's just up to the player to pick a club he's been offered to.
Now, this last one really is from the land of fantasy but someone has told us that American youngster Freddy Adu is on the verge of signing for Villa.
Only a few hours left but I've got a sneaky feeling we'll see someone come in. Not sure that Newcastle would be too interested in letting Parker go but I suspect he might quite fancy the idea. As for Adu, well, like I said, fantasy.

have maloney he cant get a game for us and mon didnt play him when hes was manager up here
I agree, Freddy Adu....fantasy. The Malone thing seems to be gathering some pace. As for Scott Parker........I would love to see him at VP, but cant see the Geordies letting him go, and somehow dont see JPA being a major influence on their thinking. Hours to go now, so we will see.
On the signing of Carew........if we have Young, Moore, and Agbonlahor up front, are we going to find the ball being crossed into the box, while Carew is still trying to get over the half way line...!! Just a thought, he needs to have some pace, and as far as I am aware, its is not one of his strong points. Anyway, I have faith, and if MON sees him as a positive, then I am happy. Anything would be better than Baros...!!
Peely, if you dont want him, we will take him. Sounds like some sour grapes to me.....because a player sees the advantage of a move to the Premier
maloney good but not worth the dough he's asking celtic for. good to see the back of im - gives duplicity a whole different meaning. best wishes are with him to win a championship medal next season.
You guys North of the border should be grateful.....we were trying to swap Baros, for anyone who owned a pair of boots.....now....if we really wanted to piss you guys off, we would have swapped him for Maloney....then you would have something to complain about..!!
In fairness guys, I can see why Maloney is not exactly flavour of the month up you way, but we have all had players in the past that have done similar things to get a move, and it happens all the time. Whats the point of holding onto someone who does'nt want to stay.....eg Dwight Yorke. Live with it, and move on...!!
Any more rumours about Keane coming from Spurs.....always rated him, but he seems to be connected with everyone but Villa now....he would be a valuable addition..
PaulVilla, you will be amazed how fast this tall man will fly on the pitch.. In fact it is one of his major assets!!
Celtic fans are not bitter about maloney joining you guys and we really hope you guys win the Championship next season
Maloney is a great player who will peak in the next couple of seasons - you're very lucky to sign him.
He's one of those players who makes things happen every time he gets the ball.
We'll miss him (and he'll miss us in Athens for the Champions League final.)
Arsenal have made a bid to take him to the Emirates. Details to follow.
Not sure why The Arse would want Maloney....maybe he is a better player than all the bitter Celts would have us believe.....its getting interesting..
It seems there are reports suggesting Maloney coming our way, with J Lloyd Samuel going in the opposite direction. That could work, and might suit both clubs.
Apparently there is a battle between manchester united and aston villa, both owned by americans, to bring freddy adu to their respective clubs. United have offered bigger money but Villa have a proven record with giving young players first team opportunities. Adu's parents rejected a move to milan at the age of 8 believing oppotunities of playing with the first team would suit their son's development, the same line of thought favours a move to villa over united.
oh yes. john alieu carew is not slow! just watch him fly..
So come then, who are we gonna sign in the summer? I'm going to miss the excitement and anticipation of who we might sign. We've got a whole 4 months to wait!
