Barcelona Set 48 Hour Filipe Deadline For Deportivo La Coruna

The Blaugrana have run out of patience with Depor, and will pull the plug if no agreement is reached in the next two days...

Barcelona have confirmed that they have set a deadline of 48 hours for the Filipe Luis deal to be finalised.

The Blaugrana have been chasing the Brazilian defender all summer, but have struggled thus far to reach an agreement with Depor over the transfer fee. Now, according to Marca, Barca have lost patience, and will abandon the project within two days.

Deportivo had initially wanted Barca to meet Filipe's buy-out clause of €20 million, but have since lowered their demands to €14m.

However, Barcelona still feel that is too much, and are not prepared to go over €8m.

Filipe has repeatedly stated his intention to move to the Camp Nou, but time is fast running out for a deal to be agreed.

Barca sporting director Txiki Begiristain said that should the deal be cancelled, there were plenty of other alternatives on the table.
