Bolton Wanderers Make Gudjohnsen Enquiry

Sunday, 05 July 09, 02:29 AM · Comments (1)

The Icelander is attracting more and more interest, despite being on the verge of staying put...

Bolton Wanderers have enquired about Eidur Gudjohnsen's availaibility as they are keen to take him back to the Reebok Stadium from Barcelona, according to a report.

Manager Gary Megson contacted the Icelandic international's father, Arnor, who is also his agent, to ask whether he would be interested in playing for the Trotters again, The Manchester Evening News states.

While not yet having had a response, Bolton's interest was made public just a day after it was revealed that Gudjohnsen could be prepared to stay for another season at Camp Nou.

Coach Pep Guardiola is keen to not completely break up the squad that won the treble last term and is due to try and persuade several fringe players to stay.

Reports claim that Gudjohnsen would almost certainly return to England should he leave Barca, but a number of other European sides are also interested.

It would be nice if Gudjohnsen returned to Bolton but I don't think that will ever happen. Apparently West Ham are after his services now.
