Juan Mata: My Departure To Barcelona Depends On Valencia

Los Che’s young winger admits that he will be happy with whatever decision his club makes about his future.

Juan Mata is unperturbed about his future eventhough Barcelona are making a strong push to sign him from Valencia.

But unlike his team-mate David Villa who appears to be adamant on swapping the Mestalla for the Camp Nou, young Mata doesn’t really mind where he ends up playing come the start of the 2009/10 season.“I am a player of Valencia and my departure to another club depends on what they want,” he told Marca when asked about the interest from Barca.“If they think that it will be the best thing for me to leave the club, then I will be at their disposal. But I am happy here and I want to stay.“The only thing I’m thinking about now is to win titles, to continue growing as a player and to go to the World Cup. That would be great,” he added.The 21-year-old was then asked to compare the playing style of his former club, Real Madrid and his potential future team, Barcelona.“Each coach has a different style and each team have their own characteristics,” he answered. “Myself, for example, I like to play on the wings but I can also play upfront, although I am not a true striker.”Finally, in regards to ‘El Guaje’s’ transfer saga, Mata had a message for his team-mate: “I hope I can continue playing alongside him for many more years to come.”
