Parma's new sporting director, Pietro Leonardi, has confirmed that the club are quite active in the transfer market at this point of the pre-season.

Their main objective right now is to hold on to Alberto Paloschi, who played with the Gialloblu last season in Serie B after they struck a co-ownership deal with Milan, and Leonardi admitted that it is their intention to keep him for another year.

"If two clubs want the same player, it becomes complicated," explained the former Udinese director to gazzettadiparma.it.

"However, with time and common sense, we can make Milan understand that for the Paloschi project and wealth, it's more useful for him another season at Parma.

"I would like that this message goes through: we are trying to create a project, without thinking only about now. We are doing so by sharing these ideas with the technical staff.

"In the meantime we are very careful to what is happening in the transfer market. Careful without being frenetic."

Parma are trying to build a solid team for next season in order to obtain, at the very least, a calm survival in their first season back in the Italian top-flight.
