Chelsea Target Andrea Pirlo: I Want To Stay At Milan

Tuesday, 07 July 09, 01:44 AM · Comments (0)

The Italian international has no desire to join Ancelotti in London and maintains his future lies at the San Siro.

Speculation is rife in Italy that new Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is still pushing to take Milan playmaker Andrea Pirlo to Stamford Bridge, although the midfielder has attempted to quell such speculation by stating that he wants to stay in the peninsula.

Rossoneri vice president Adriano Galliani has insisted there is a 99.9 per cent chance that Pirlo will remain at Milan, and the midfielder has now finally spoken out to make his intentions clear.

“I’m staying at Milan,” he confessed to the Corriere dello Sport from Forte dei Marmi, where he is enjoying his holidays ahead of the start of the new season.

“Ever since I joined Milan, I have gone through other moments like this one. On several occasions, there has been so much talk about me and then nothing happened.

“Therefore, reading the papers and seeing my name at the core of the transfer market does not leave me feeling weird. I am tranquil. I have a contract with Milan.

“I see myself at Milan next season. Nothing will happen. I want to stay.”

Milan will start pre-season training at Milanello today, but the players who have been on international duty at the Confederations Cup will join up at a later point.
