Roma defender John Arne Riise has become Milan's latest transfer target following the collapse of the deal for full-back Aly Cissokho from Porto due to a failed medical.

According to laroma24.it, the Rossoneri are now convinced that Riise can be the player they need to cover Cissokho's loss, even though the latter is still hoping that the Italian and Portuguese club still reach a loan deal.

Milan are prepared to offer €5 million for the services of the Norwegian player, the same amount that the Giallorossi paid Liverpool a year ago to secure the transfer of the player to Rome.

If the latest transfer speculation is to be believed, then the former Champions League winners will have to watch out for Barcelona, who are reportedly chasing the player too.

However, just in case the Rossoneri fail to sign Riise, they have already found the alternative in Inter's Maxwell, who has been linked to the club for the past few months.
