Napoli Set To Rival Milan For Getafe's Uruguayan Striker Juan Albin

Juan Albin looks set to leave Getafe, but it may not be to Milan that he goes...

Napoli are now the favourites to land Juan Albin from Getafe after AC Milan's interest in signing the forward has lessened and left the way clear for other clubs.

The Uruguayan striker looks set to leave the Spanish side where he has made his name in Europe and move to Serie A this summer after being given the green light.

Milan were said to be keen on Albin to bolster their front line after Kaka's transfer to Real Madrid, but the Rossoneri have cooled their interest and are said to be looking elsewhere.

Now the 22-year-old is set for talks with Napoli after his agent Daniel Fonseca initiated contact with his former club and began to broker a deal, according to reports in Italy.

Getafe president Angel Torres is reported to have told the player that he can leave for the right price and that he would not be kept against his will.

That alerted clubs in Serie A, and Napoli are now the front-runners as they believe that the uncapped forward's versatility would give them plenty of options up front.
