Carrick x Scholes

Wednesday, 11 April 07, 01:23 PM · Comments(3)

Just a quick question for you guys. Is it just my impression or Carrick is a much better player when Scholes is not around? Against Rome it was not the first time that I noticed that, but without Scholes, he looks free to start the plays from midfield and also be in front.

His two goals yesterday were amazing. But I keep thinking next game, when Scholes is back, Carrick comes back to his supporting position and maybe, even Scholes is obviuosly important, Manutd can loose some of the brillant action from yesterday.

I agree. When Scholes plays, Carrick's job is to give the ball to him and cover for him when he goes upfield. Scholes absence gives Carrick more license to attack and be more multi-dimensional
