Dallas forward Kenny Cooper actually started the scoring for the home side, with a 60-yard blast!! that beat Fire goalkeeper Jon Busch in the ninth minute. Cooper caught Busch off his line and fired a rocket just over the 5-foot-10 goalkeeper’s fingertips.
But the Fire were able to equalize before the end of the half before going ahead to stay just after the break.
The equalizer came off midfielder Mapp’s boot in the 38th minute. Forward Patrick Nyarko controlled the ball at the top of the FCD penalty area and played a ball to the left side to Mapp after Hoops’ central defender Steve Purdy slipped to open up space. Mapp then took a touch and blasted a left- footed laser into the side netting to tie the game at one. more see link below
