Who’s kidding around Juventus fans?

Well, Mr. Blanc, the same person who said this in August, now has suddenly changed his mind. “Juve is the leading team, and Buffon is its key-player” we read today in “Tuttosport”, Turin sport newspaper. “We do not say how much money we’ll spend, not to give advantages to competitors, but we’ll compete very soon for Scudetto”. Well, maybe Blanc forgets last Buffon’s words just few days ago, saying that Juve will be great also without him. Even Del Piero had some interviews. Nobody had any doubt about the captain’s fidelity to black and white colours, but two days ago his fans were frozen over by these words: “Who says I’ll stay at Juve? They are definitely wrong”.
Despite nobody is sure Juventus’ top player will stay, and uncertainty about the future is on top of their thoughts, everyday you can read in newspapers a big list of players that would be joining Juventus. Mascherano, Grygera, Cassano, Cristiano Ronaldo, Huntelaar is just a selected choice of names written in newspapers and magazines front pages. Some of them even for January transfer session, some of them at the end of the season. It is quite impossible those players –except, maybe, Grygera- will join the Bianconeri, at least in January: so, why are they giving us this kind of news?
The truth is that 14 millions of Juventus fans in Italy represent a big amount of potential readers and consumers. They need to dream of something after that Calciopoli, Serie B relegation and top players’ departure depressed them. First of all, they have been convinced that Calciopoli wasn’t the right punishment for Moggi and Giraudo match-fixing, but a conspiracy planned by Inter Chairman Moratti, together with former FIGC commissioner Guido Rossi and Telecom Italia, charged to have ignored wiretaps about Inter Milan. And now the illusion of a top player for the “Old Lady” even in serie B. We hope we are wrong, maybe we’ll see one of them with the black and white jersey, but we have a doubt: who’s making fun of Juve fans?

Italian newspapers always showed unconvincing news to sell more copies...yesterday I read that Inter will buy Buffon, C. Ronaldo and Messi...
You're right Antonio, but in this case they reach the top: Juventus is in Serie B, ok they're in a good position to come back to Serie A next June, but while Trezeguet, Camoranesi, Buffon and even Del Piero don't exclude they could leave after promotion, newspapers talk about improbable newcomers, especially in January window. When Juve will be back, we'll talk about all these names, if (underlined if) Agnelli family will put money into the team.
Juventus is a popular team but most of its fans are not so addicted. In the past, most of the home stadium in Turin was empty in many matches and I think several fans will end to support the bianconeri if they will not recover quickly with a good team. And that's really difficult when big foreign players do not see the Serie A as the best league in the World anymore. IMHO most of Juventus' supporters were just because it was the winning team... now it's an other story, despite of the media claims.

great blog gabriele... but juve are still one of the most popular teams in italy and the world... once they are back in serie A, some sponsor will be sure to come in with big money, and they will be back in it.
they are badly off, but it was the same with fiorentina, but they came back (very sketchily) in a few seasons and are already a top 5 team again.
one season in Serie B is not enough, they should have maintained the original points deduction so they stayed down for 2 seasons. that would have been just punishment.
Hi SM, I agree with you that Juve is the most popular team, but consider also that the Agnelli family doesn't want to put so much money in its team as Moratti and Berlusconi can do. Anyway, for sure they will rise (and your comparison with Fiorentina is right, they took 4 years), but in these days I see in the newspapers too many names, some of them really unconvincing for a Serie B team, and this makes me think this is done just to sell more copies...
