Sempre convinto che i media non siano "amici" del Milan?

Ci ha pensato la Gazzetta oggi, ma se l'ha fatto è stato come al solito per stoppare voci ancora più gravi. Ronaldo è svogliato, non si presenta alle sedute fisioterapiche, non risponde al cellulare. E' fuori da luglio, praticamente non ha mai giocato in questa stagione, e ora si appresterebbe a rientrare. Le voci sono su una vita di Ronaldo non proprio da atleta, molto simile a quella di Adriano, ma se ne parla di meno. A dimostrazione che spesso i giornalisti non ci dicono tutto quello che sanno, ma solo quello che gli conviene. Il problema è che il Milan ha potere mediatico, usa la propaganda per coprire gli insuccessi calcistici e fatti come quello di Ronaldo. Mi spiace, ma la Gazzetta sbaglia quando scrive che "sull'altra sponda del Naviglio sono meno attenti a custodire i segreti": sono tutti capaci allo stesso modo, è chi viene a saperli, questi segreti, che a volte decide di divulgarli altre no, e non è mai per simpatia!

Dunque, Ronaldo non fa vita da atleta, forse eccede negli stessi vizi notturni di Adriano, oltra a non allenarsi e a non avere disciplina. Vorrebbe andarsene per guadagnare di più, almeno così mi dicono. Ma fino ad oggi, il nulla mediatico. C'è perfino qualche tifoso rossonero che si lamenta e accusa la Gazzetta di destabilizzare la Società (ovviamente con la maiuscola) facendo queste rivelazioni al momento del rientro in campo. Com'è possibile, allora, che per il Milan (e di riflesso per i media) ogni settimana dal 31 luglio era buona per il rientro, mentre i giornalisti che conosco mi dissero da subito che prima di novembre non sarebbe stato possibile rivedere Ronaldo? C'è da chiedersi piuttosto come mai questo articolo sia uscito prepotentemente solo oggi, 9 novembre. Forse il Milan ha dato il via libera perché adesso serve screditare Ronaldo? Che, di suo, vorrebbe lasciare il Milan per un ultimo contratto "pesante", così come Adriano lascerebbe l'Inter.

Tutto questo discorso si interseca con le dichiarazioni di ieri di Silvio Berlusconi, abbastanza irritanti. Non tanto per aver detto che gli interesserebbe Adriano al Milan, cosa legittima nonostante le levate di scudi ogni volta che al Real nominano Kakà, quanto per quel "Adriano vorrebbe lasciare l'Inter? Chi non lo prenderebbe, quindi anche il Milan. Tutto dipende dall'ambiente che ha intorno". Ecco, oggi sulla Gazzetta s'è capito che ambiente troverebbe a Milanello, anzi no. Se Adriano beve e fa tardi la notte è colpa dell'ambiente, se lo fa Ronaldo, è colpa di Ronaldo.

Dall'ammissione UEFA con questa lettera dell'Emergency Panel:

"L'Emergency Panel della Uefa ha ammesso oggi il Milan a partecipare al terzo turno di qualificazione alla Uefa Champions League 2006-2007. Il club ovviamente non ha ancora percepito nella maniera giusta i problemi in cui si trova e il danno che ha gia' causato al calcio europeo. L'Emergency Panel dell'Uefa, competente a decidere in materia, è arrivato alla conclusione che non aveva altra scelta se non quella di ammettere il Milan alle competizioni Uefa 2006-2007 per ragioni formali, a causa delle insufficienti basi legali nel regolamento che avrebbero consentito la non ammissione del Milan viste le specifiche circostanze''.

Ai cori beceri, che nello spogliatoio potevo anche capire, dopo la partita, con l'emozione, ma che in queste circostanze sono davvero deprecabili. Uno schifo veramente. Eccolo, insieme ovviamente un'altra volta ai cori beceri:

A parte che se è in risposta al "Vinciamo senza rubare" degli interisti denota una enorme coda di paglia da parte dei rossoneri. E' gente questa che, dando retta ai media di proprietà del loro presidente, sembra vivere in un Eden ritrovato dove si sta tutti in armonia col mondo. La squadra il cui presidente va al 'family day' (il minuscolo è voluto) e il giocatore che ha la maglia in cui c'è scritto che appartiene a Gesù. Il giocatore che aveva in mano lo striscione, Massimo Ambrosini, dopo la partita è andato in diretta TV con la maglietta della parrocchia, salutando tutti gli amici dell'oratorio di Pesaro. Allora, milanisti brava gente? No, è un'accozzzaglia di persone che dovrebbero essere dei professionisti ma sono solo dei volgari cafoni. CAFONI D'EUROPA!

Adriano Galliani è un sentimentale o un uomo di marketing? Vuole veramente premiare chi da anni segue il Milan, oppure ha capito che la fidelizzazione del tifoso può essere il futuro del calcio? "Sto cercando di fare una cosa romantica, di portare ad Atene gli abbonati del Milan alle partite di campionato -ha detto l'ad del Milan- Qualcuno mi attacca, ma io cerco di interpretare lo spirito dei tifosi milanisti"

Le dichiarazioni di Galliani hanno spaccato in due la tifoseria milanista, certo è importante premiare chi si impegna per tutta la stagione magari da anni, ma non tutti i non abbonati sono più tifosi più "tiepidi": la distanza da Milano (il Milan ha tifosi ovunque) e i prezzi possono indurre molti appassionati a non prendere un impegno così a lungo termine.

Io capisco i tifosi arrabbiati con Galliani, ma penso che dal punto di vista della società sia giusto tentare di fidelizzare il proprio tifoso. Piuttosto, non avrei usato le parole di Galliani e avrei cercato di "conquistarmi" gli abbonati in altro modo. Non dando loro l'esclusiva, non escludendo chi abbonato non è, ci sono tanti modi per farlo. Sei abbonato, vuoi andare ad Atene? Ti spediamo il biglietto a casa, per esempio. Non dovrai farti ore di coda per prendere un biglietto. Questa può essere un'agevolazione, ma certo inimicarsi li resto della tifoseria pare troppo.

Del resto, in Inghilterra hanno trovato il modo di avere gli stadi pieni quasi sempre, che si tratti di Man U-Chelsea o di Liverpool-Watford. Ma lì, spostati i problemi del teppismo e dell'hooliganismo lontano dallo stadio, hanno reso l'esperienza di andare allo stadio qualcosa di diverso, di "magico". Purtroppo, lì i prezzi sono in crescita e lo spettacolo è sempre più qualcosa per ricchi manager e non per giovani tifosi.

Il Milan stravince meritatamente 3-0 la semifinale di ritorno col Manchester United e prepara le valigie per Atene. Gli inglesi non sono mai esistiti, Ronaldo ha giocato la peggior partita dell'anno, Giggs fermo sulla sinistra e Rooney troppo solo davanti. Gli inglesi non ci sono stati propio, se all'andata il confronto tra Kakà e Cristiano è stato vinto dal brasiliano ai punti, stasera l'incontro è finito per K.O. al primo round.

Ferguson, peraltro, ci ha capito poco, i suoi giocatori sul campo bagnato nel primo tempo non stavano in piedi. E non ha provato nemmeno, sir Alex, a cambiare di posizione i suoi esterni. 2-0 all'intervallo, mi sarei atteso un calo del Milan nella ripresa ma solo tra il 60' e il 70' i Red Devils sono stati un po' pericolosi. Ma l'ingresso del fresco Gilardino, autore del terzo gol con un contropiede uno contro zero, ha rimesso le cose a posto e nel finale anche il bistrattato Dida si è esaltato nelle uscite alte sugli sterili cross dei britannici.

E così, il Milan va ad Atene dove troverà il Liverpool. La finale è tra due squadre terze nei rispettivi campionati, segno che è sempre più difficile fare il double (il Barca dello scorso anno fu un'eccezione). Alla faccia di chi diceva che la Serie A vale poco. Si ritrovano le due squadre di un paio d'anni fa: allora ad Istanbul, stavolta ad Atene, il Mediterraneo Orientale porta loro fortuna. Un grande successo comunque per il calcio italiano, e milanese in particolare: Inter scudettata, Milan in finale della Champions League. Certa gente che ha solo gettato fango sull'immagine del calcio italiano non ci manca per niente! Al 23 maggio...

È un anno che mi sento dire che il campionato vinto non valle nula perché manca la Juve e il Milan è partito da -8.

È un anno che mi sento dire che dovevamo dimostrare il nostro valore in Champions da gente che ha sempre rimediato figuracce (leggi Anfield e Highbury).

È un anno che ce la menate con Ibra e Vieira, che vinciamo per merito loro, e non oso pensare a cosa ci avreste detto se non avessimo vinto lo scudetto, come minimo ci avreste preso in giro fino al 2027.

È un anno che ci accusano di complotti e intercettazioni manco fossimo la Spectre.

Ma io vi dico, con Calciopoli 2 e Calciopoli 3, Moggi, Meani e compagnia bella, schede svizzere, slovene e del Liechtenstein, ci starete mica tirando un altro colpo e vi farete penalizzare per sminuire le nostre eventuali future vittorie? Io voglio, se possibile, il prossimo anno vincere eventualmente un campionato "regolare"...

Inter's 17th consecutive win isn't news, just like the umpteenth Totti's mistake from the penalty spot. Today we want to talk about three teams that have been punished after Calciopoli scandal, and now are trying to get into Europe by its main door: Champions League. Now it's Lazio seating on the fourth step, but Milan is just one point behind and Fiorentina is some distance from them but maybe is in very good shape and don't mind if they are six points under. Reasonably, they are fighting for just one place, but we see that Palermo is in a bad moment and there are still 14 games to play. Will the Sicilians resist in the Top Four? We'll see...

Another remark we should do is that all the people saying this year Serie A is not so good, are a little bit wrong. Take for example the table as it would be if all those teams weren't penalized. At least for the top 6, it should be: Inter 66, AS Roma 52, Fiorentina 46, Palermo 44, AC Milan 44, Lazio 40. Top teams are all there, except Juve that is still paying for its scandals, so it's not Inter's fault if they are too strong. We should talk anout no history for its strenght, but not that the level is lower than the past for the reason Juve is not there.

Anyway, yesterday night AC Milan won without deserving, for the second time three points came during the extra-time, once again Ambrosini's header has been decisive: without him now Milan would be sixth with 31 points, 35 less then Inter. Ronaldo played badly, but had to carry the weight of the attack as Oliveira has been replaced by Cafu after 10', due to Oddo's sending-off. Mach 11th is going to be the moment of truth for Ancelotti: that day his team will play against Inter for the derby. Anyway, choosing Ronaldo -that cannot play Champions League- Milan has shown how important is fourth place to them.

Lazio forward Tommaso Rocchi is the man of the day. His beautiful goal in Cagliari has been applauded by all the viewers, and he had a standing ovation by the opposite fans, and this doesn't happen every day, especially in Italy, where fair play is just a pipe-dream. Now Lazio on Wednesday is going to play Catania at the Stadio Olimpico, it won't be easy, though Catania is in deep crisis and needs some point after the unsuccessful match against Inter.

We think Fiorentina is Serie A third best team, after Inter and Roma (according to Mutu, they are second, after Inter). They have a good coach, a fantastic pair of forwards, Luca Toni and Adrian Mutu, a technical skilled player as Liverani and some good youngsters (Montolivo, Pazzini and Donadel). Sporting director Pantaleo Corvino confirms their interest to young players: today Fiorentina has signed Arturo Lupoli (Arsenal forward, now at Derby County on loan) for the next five years. So, Neapolitan forward will be back to Italy since July, as he left Parma some years ago, "stolen" by Arsenal.

So, as from now until the end of may, at least we'll see an exciting fight for Europe: giants are back!

Serie A is quite boring, especially for the first place, but tomorow the last 16 of the biggest European competition comes to the fore. Celtic Glasgow-AC Milan tomorrow, Inter Milan-Valencia and AS Roma-Lyon on Wednesday are the matches of Italian teams. A difficult heath for everybody, very difficult to get through, especially for the Romans. Lyon has been dominating French League for five years, and it should win this year as well, but in Champions League their best result was a quarter final. Now Lyon is a little bit weaker than the beginning of the season, but still a dangerous opponent. Juninho Pernambucano is sure we'll see the rtue Lyon next Wednesday. In Rome the enthusiasm is great, it's first time the Giallorossi get through UCL the groups stage.

Coach Spalletti denies any dispute with Totti after the captain's substitution at Empoli. "French are strong -the coach from Certaldo says- but I'm convinced AS Roma will play two great games". Probably center back Philippe Mexes will take part of the game against his compatriots. If in Rome, Stadio Olimpico will be full, in Milan for an absurd decision only season tickets holders can watch the game, even the ones buying tickets before Catania riots had to renounce, and will get only a full refund of the ticket. Mancini should have his best formation, with many players that just had a rest day on Saturday. Valencia is a hard nut to crack, especially after their win in front of Spain and Europe champions of Barcelona. They have a good forward duo (Villa and El Moro Morientes), and good midfielder. Inter has a lot to loose, and the same is for Italian football: imagine what could happen if the team that is triumphing in the Serie A League was sent off by a Spanish team...
Anyway, Baraja and Vicente haven't been called up due to someinjuries.

AC Milan is maybe the weakest Italian team at the moment in this last-16 tie, but also has the easiest task. Celtic Glasgow has been a surprise of the groups stage, but still seems to be at a lower level than the Milanese. The problem for Ancelotti is that some key players won't take part to the match: Ronaldo already played in Champions at Real Madri), Dida is injured and Gilardino is not sure he will play. Only Oliveira is ok among the forwards. Then, the Celtic Park is a hot stadium, ad the Scottish have a player like Shunsuke Nakamura that can create some danger. "I'd like to be in good condition -the Japanese says- I think it will be a great match". Well, we hope all of these matches will be great, but for the Italian clubs...

Burdisso, this is best year at Inter for Argentina defender

This is the last week without night matches, so teams that will play Champions League next Tuesda and Wednesday played all in advance this afternoon. With its 1-0 win to Cagliari (header of Burdisso after 12'), Inter broke all records with its 16th consecutive win in Serie A, and extended its lead to 14 points on AS Roma. A double face match, this afternoon: a good first half, with Luis Figo teaching football and Ibra 'big foot' giving a ball to Burdisso that the Argentinean defendere just needed to be pushed into Cagliari's goal. Second half wasn't really unforgettable, Inter thought too much about Valencia, and just kept the match under control. Cagliari went close to equalize just once, on the other side Stankovic hit the crossbar. So, now let's think about Valencia: it's a pity that an absurd decision kept people out of San Siro, except the holding season tickets ones.

It could have been a quiet Saturday, but forward Nicola Pozzi of Empoli gave with his beautiful goal a big help to Inter. The 1-0 win of Empoli is the biggest surprise of the day, in an empty stadium (the game was played behind closed doors). This is the real difference between the Nerazzurri and their opponents: Inter can start -and win- without Materazzi, Javier Zanetti, Vieira, Maxwell, Maicon, Adriano. AS Roma today field a formation without Chivu, Mexes, Taddei and Mancini: the Romans were unlucky, hit two goal posts but at the end they lost. Now Tuscans -we already talked about them here- are speeding along to Champions League qualifying. AS Roma just needs to forget about the defeat and think of Champions League and Lyon.

Just two points below Empoli we find AC Milan. The Rossoneri got 3 important points in Siena, and Ronaldo scored twice: the 1-0 goal with a header -not exactly his speciality- and Milan third goal after a slalom of Kakà, when he could just score from 3 metres. Surely Ancelotti had a good Ronaldo, we're not sure the Brazilian was of no use to Real and coach Capello. The problem, for AC Milan, is that he cannot play in Champions League, and for Glasgow also Gilardino probably won't be available. Be sure that it won't be easy at Celtic Park next Wednesday, but Milan has been the best Italian team in Europe during these years. A very good afternoon also for Siena forward Maccarone: Big Mac, back from England, scored twice but he couldn't avoid Siena's defeat.

Roberto Baggio...turned tail after his retirement

I forgave Marcello Lippi for sending Baggio away from Inter in 2000 only last Summer, as the coach from Viareggio won the World Cup on Italy's bench. Well, it's always been Roberto's destiny to be kicked away by coaches that suffered too much his important presence. It happened at Juventus, when Del Piero came and took his place, it happened at AC Milan, and it happened also at Inter. Baggio left the Nerazzurri with two goals in a very important match vs Parma that qualified them to Champions League. Then, he went to Brescia and everybody said he was over: 95 games with 45 goals in four years were his reply.

Most of all, Baggio for the Italian fans is the heart and soul of the Notti Magiche (magic nights) of the World Cup 1990: Stadio Olimpico in Rome shouted with joy and people couldn't believe their eyes after his goal to Czechoslovakia, a fifty metres ride as he entered the goal with the ball glued to his magic right foot. He had just dribbled six opponents!

Before Cannavaro in 2006, Roby Baggio was the last Italian to win the Ballon d'or and the Fifa World Player in 1993. Then, his mistake in the penalty kicks sequence in World Cup final -Usa 94- was a spot in his career, but back to Italy he won two consecutive Scudetti with two different jerseys: Juventus and AC Milan. Once he left Milan, he did well in Bologna, Inter and Brescia, played another World Cup in 98 and in 2002 fans and media entered into debate with Trapattoni because he didn't bring Baggio to its possible fourth World Cup. The lost versus South Corea helped keeping this debate live, even a lot of time after tha World Cup had finished.

Roberto Baggio will be 40 on the 18th of February, next Sunday. He stopped playing football in summer 2004, and after that we did not hear a lot of him. Now he lives in a large country house close to Caldogno (Vicenza), his home town. He doesn't follow Italian football, just hardly knows that Inter is dominating. From time to time he goes to the stadium, but only while he is in Argentina (over there he owns a farm), in his frequent shooting holidays. In fact, hunting is an old passion of his, and now he can practise it almost full time. He lives in a golden isolation, runs a sport goods shop where his sister works. He still follows Buddhism.

In other words, he enjoys the pleasures of family life (he has a wife and three sons), and lives in a home where he has even built a museum with 300 wood birds, a stuffed wild pig and a small boat with some ducks around. Well, it is not necessary that every top player stays in football world after retirement, but only the great stars will never be forgotten even if they become just family men or everything but a coach. And Roberto Baggio is one of these...
