Say Hello, Wave Goodbye.

Monday, 18 May 09, 01:00 AM · Comments(4)

It's Monday morning again but for a change it doesn't seem too difficullt to get out of bed as I have the day off for the first time since December. After reading just about everything I can about the possible departure of Adebayor it would seem that the majority of fans want him out of the club and I have to say I agree with that sentiment. He has shown absolutely no committment to the cause and he blames the fans for his troubles now. If he showed the right attitude on the pitch we would have eventually forgiven him for trying to engineer a move last summer but he never seemed to care when he played. The sight of him kissing the badge after scoring never sat easy with me this season and the amount of money he earns for the effort we get from him is almost criminal. I say sell him to the highest bidder and put the money towards a top class replacement.

Our youth team won the final of the FA Academy Premier league by a 1-0 scoreline against The Spuds at White Hart Lane yesterday with Rhys Murphy scoring the winner. They now move on to the FA Youth Cup final first leg at The Emirates against Liverpool on Friday night with the 2nd leg at Anfield on the glorious date of May 26th. Let's hope they can add the double to the ladies team's double seeming as the first team won nothing again.

For our trip to Old Trafford on Saturday I went on a daytrip of my own with the Wicklow Gunners to a pub called Gibney's in Malahide which is on the northside of Dublin. We had a great day out and we got to see a section of the old Jumbotron from Highbury. It wasn't turned on that day but maybe if we can contact them beforehand we can arrange to watch a game on it in the future. We did get to talk to the owner afterwards and he told us that he would give us a gift of his 2 seats at The Emirates for 1 game next season if we come out again and contact him in advance. We had some good banter with the Manure fans on the day and to be fair to them they don't seem to particularly love the diver either. I also had my photo taken in the old dugout from Highbury in front of a jersey signed by The Invincibles. We will be heading back that way for a match next season as it was a very enjoyable day out. It had been a while since I started "socialising" at 11.30 in the morning and after a gap for the journey home and to feed the family we then headed off to a Eurovision party until 4 in the morning. I know a Eurovision sounds naff but it was great fun and we do it every year. I'll leave it at that for today but with the season winding down there seems to be less and less to write about.

Here's the highlights of the ladies win at Everton to take the league off them on the final day of the season.

And to finish today's title track from Soft Cell which is again for Adebayor as it looks like we will be waving goodbye to him once the transfer window reopens.

See You Tomorrow.

I've had weekends off alright but I'm due more than 5 weeks of holidays but this was the first day I was able to take. We had a good time. I have 2 weeks off from June 12th and I'm really looking forward to it. :D

Thanks, we had a great day today and Saturday was awesome sitting in the seats from the Highbury dugout. I have a picture of it on my home page with the club secretary and me in front of the signed Invincibles jersey. :D
