Well I'm back at home after my weekend away and I've got tomorrow off work. I have just watched my recording of yesterday's match and I'm still over the moon with the result. The attitude and application we showed yesterday was what us fans have being asking for over the last few matches. We played with real tempo and the 4-5-1 formation with Diaby in the team really suits us. Obviously the game could have gone either way and we got the breaks when we needed them but we weren't helped by some poor refereeing. Every player gave it all he had though and that was a pleasent change. The manager also picked the right team which I feel he hasn't always done recently. I still wasn't happy with the substitutions as we always seem to bring central players on for wide players and then concede goals. We played down the clock a little better than against The Spuds but we still didn't run into corners and shield the ball, especially when it was 2-1. This may not be pretty but it's a basic requirement sometimes.
My man of the match was Nasri because of his goals but also I thought his overall game was his best yet for us. Cesc also played really well as he did in Turkey. With the extra man in midfield it frees him that little bit more and we saw the resuls in those 2 games. United learned that you let us play at your peril and you can see why the smaller clubs try to stifle us. We will be frustrated by a lot of teams for the rest of the season but we need patience and once we go ahead we then need to kill them as quickly as possible. Nasri's goals from midfield are really helping us and it's good to see him getting them. He has settled in quickly and let's hope he's over those niggling injuries he's had so far this season.
Gallas reckons we can still win the league but I'm still not sure. If we can win a few matches in a row I might start to believe and if we beat Chelsea at the end of the month I could become a convert. The manager says he won't be adding to the squad in January but even if he was he wouldn't tell us. I think if the right player(s) become available he will buy. The fans were great yesterday and that noise level would be great at all our home games as it really seemed to help yesterday. Almunia showed a lot of bravery when he got injured yesterday and hopefully he can keep that up but I still think he is a little dodgy. Mind you Van Der Sar looks to be a lot more dodgy at the moment and it's costing them goals. We have Wigan in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night and it will be interesting to see who plays. I'm sure Vela, Wilshere, Song, Fabianski & Rambo will play and maybe Kolo too as he was a sub yesterday.
We have been linked to a lot of players today but I don't think there's much in any of the links. Here's the list anyway - Morgan Schneiderlin of Southampton, Lenny of Palmeiras, Iaquinta of Juventus, De Rossi of Roma and Paddy Vieira. Judge for yourself but Paddy won't be coming back and the boss says he won't be signing anyone so these links are spurious to say the least. Appearently Theo is in talks to extend his contract and RVP is close to signing a new deal. Anyway that's about it as I have to hit the hay.
Here's the highlights of yesterday's match.

And to finish some Music from Damian Marley with a great cover of one of his dad's classics.

I especially like Diaby in the hole when we're down to a lone striker. I would like to a see a 4-4-2 formation in the Carling Cup, where Diaby plays in the middle to see if he can defend.
That's not a bad idea but he might not start as he played on Saturday.
