Jarosik loan deal agreed

Monday, 22 August 05, 12:35 PM · Comments (3)

Birmingham City have agreed a season-long loan deal with Chelsea for Jiri Jarosik which includes the option of making the move permanent at the end of the season.

The midfielder made 20 appearances for Chelsea last season after arriving from CSKA Moscow in the January transfer window as a replacement for the then injured Scott Parker.

The signing of Michael Essien from Lyon pushed Jarosik further to the fringes of the squad, hence his decision to seek a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Can't say I'm upset at this news. Jarosik didn't look very special to me.

Hopefully he'll do for Birmingham what Smertin has to Charlton - improve them no end!
