Glen Johnson has joined Portsmouth on loan for the whole of next season.

The 21 year-old England international right-back will be reunited with Harry Redknapp, the manager who was in charge of Johnson's former club West Ham.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth have signed Chelsea's former youth and reserve team captain Danny Hollands. The 20 year-old will pen a two-year deal at Dean Court on Saturday 1st July.

Our first team defence is looking thin on the ground to me now. With Johnson's loan, we now have left:

Left backs - Bridge, Del Horno
Centre defenders - Carvalho, Gallas, Terry
Right Backs - Ferreira, Geremi

I'd feel better if we brought in another all rounder like Gallas, then our summer spending can stop. It's just awkward that players of that quality are such a rarity.
