Premiership preview: Everton v. Chelsea

Sunday, 17 December 06, 12:47 PM · Comments (9)

Chelsea have an opportunity to put some pressure on Manchester United, who play struggling West Ham at Upton Park later this afternoon. Will fortune favour new Hammers manager Alan Curbishley? Let's hope so.

Jose Mourinho is still without Carlo Cudicini who hasn't fully recovered from a strained leg muscle, so Henrique Hilario is likely to continue in goal. Joe Cole is out with a broken foot but Ricardo Carvalho is expected to return.

Everton are without a host of players including Mikel Arteta, Tim Cahill, Tony Hibbert, Alessandro Pistone and Gary Naysmith.

Chelsea have won eight and drawn three of the last eleven Premiership matches against Everton including three wins in the last four visits to Goodison Park.

Two words

Fucking Hell!

Will you ever see 3 better strikes from1 team in one game ever? I doubt it. After 2 nights of seasonal alcohol abuse this was to be my "drying out" day....well that game soon out paid to that. Anyone know a good liver doctor? Tony

Well, what to say?

I actually kissed the screen and shouted 'I love you' when Drogba battered it in for the win.

The title is surely going nowhere. But now is really the time to ditch the diamond.

Every game, we're putting Essien at right back. Why don't we just start every game in the same vein? Look at the results it produces: Barcelona away, Arsenal away, Everton away... All important.

The start of the game was shocking. We need Joe Cole and Cech ASAP.

Didier Drogba you legend!

I agree with Chris, we need to drop the diamond, we seem to be so much better with Essien at RB.

Battered it in certainly described it best. Magical. Its easy to say now but even when they went 2-1 up I still believed. So did Dorbs and the lads. That belief is the difference between good teams and champions.

Barcelona, Arsenal, Everton...

One of my eyes is glued on heart attack stats among fans.

Thats why we are champions!

Boring, boring Chelsea produce one of the games of the season AGAIN.

Oh, and thanks West Ham!

What does Rooney have to do to get sent off?

When we were 1-2 down I was so scared that we were gonna lose the game. But deep down, I never doubted that we were gonna fight untill the end. And so it proved. Go Chelsea!! Go All The Way. We will be champion again!!!!

Good game that had me on the edge of the seat. we surely conceded goal easily now but i guess the fact that we can bounce back is good. we seem not to have a pattern we play but i guess we are defining on, the 'çhelsea pattern'.
