The Guardian, Kevin McCarra: "Who would have thought that Chelsea could turn themselves into gallant losers? If a third consecutive Premiership title was to be denied the Stamford Bridge side, they failed with a show of strength and talent. That let them come back for a draw despite being down to 10 men for the whole of the second half after the dismissal of the hapless Khalid Boulahrouz. Their desire to pull off the win that would have postponed the end of the contest with Manchester United was remarkable."
The Times, Matt Dickinson: "They gave it a good go — they always do — and a mighty effort by the Chelsea players almost kept the title race alive for another few days. Jose Mourinho was rightly proud of their endeavours, although, typically, he was not about to shower the new champions with praise to go with their champagne. “They got more points than us,” he said. “Congratulations to Manchester United, but that is it.”"
Daily Telegraph, Henry Winter: "Like fallen warriors, Jose Mourinho's erstwhile champions were carried out on their shield, every drop of sweat expended for the cause. The sight of Chelsea's inspirational leader, John Terry, pushed into emergency centre-forward action late on here, supported by Scott Sinclair and Salomon Kalou, signalled the shortage of resources. Chelsea were not so much down to the bare bones, as scraping the marrow."
The Independent, Sam Wallace: "The title on a plate for Manchester United, served up with a flourish by Khalid Boulahrouz. The Dutchman has had a wretched season at Chelsea but even he did not envisage that he would play such a central role in finally sending the trophy north in quite such disastrous circumstances."
Official Chelsea FC Website, Neil Barnett: "When the whistle went Chelsea players were drained and for a moment alone. But Mourinho charged to the Chelsea fans and demanded a major ovation for his team. It was given. Pride remains."

Michael Essien by the proverbial country mile.
What a season. There's no shame in losing out to Manchester United, who had to perform better than ever before to prevent us winning a third successive Premiership title.
To reach the beginning of May and still be in with a chance of sealing an unprecedented quadruple of League Cup, Premiership, Champions League, and FA Cup was a phenomenal achievement given the the size of our squad and the injuries suffered.
Those injuries and fatigue took their toll this last week, but that shouldn't take the shine off what Mourinho accomplished this season in winning the League Cup, and fighting to the bitter end in the League and Champions League.
There's still the FA Cup final to come. Win that and it's a good season; lose it and we'll be entitled to be disappointed.
Just a little.
Thanks for clarifying that, Jimmy. I'd never have worked it out.
If you're okay with the fact that your greatest achievement this season was facilitating what was effectively inevitable, United winning the league, then that's fine by me. You clearly are becoming more like Spurs with each passing season.
Ah, the no "class" and "When Abramovich leaves you're f**ked" arguments. We've not heard those before.
"No-one but your fans likes you." That's exactly how we like it.
Thanks Jimmy for your vivid demonstration of a lack of class. It is true that one day we could be back with the also-rans such as Arsenal. We put out a team with an average age younger than Arsenal's and showed with just 10 men how far behind the Gooners really are. So I understand why, with no team of your own to love, you have to hate Chelsea. On the other hand, I love my team. Especially today.
Although Chelsea lose the Premiership crown, but they walked out the Emirates Stadium with their heads held high.
Looking at the season, the manager Mourinho has pulled off a good show despite all the injuries and problems off and on the pitch. I hope that he will be there to start the next season with Chelsea.
Let's give Man-U a thumping for both Wednesday and the FA Cup!
So I believe the whole England or UK whatever u believe is happy finally with referee, FA and all the other clubs TOGETHER WON...and Chelsea is Demolished......
Well then It took the whole World to beat a lean Chelsea team...Who says Chelsea lost!!!!!...except for the Stats..
I said earlier Penalties are easily given against Chelsea whether Blatant or ...... watch out Manu will will win SM match and FA cup using Penalties...
Triology......!!!!!!!!!!
And in the END penatlies...and Stats MATTERs.....
Glad you feel that way Jimmy. I think it was Machiavelli that said it is better to be feared than to be loved.
But whats the Stats---
Chelsea = 23 + staff + some mortal fans
VS
Opposition = All clubs+ FA+referee+any one but not Chelsea fan

Epilogue: Life @ CHELSEA in RA era:
-----------------------------
But with all this - One thing remain is that Chelsea has to continue to make the biggest HISTORY in club football...if we needs to stand out tomorrow..and thats with or without RA....I pray we will succeed...
It is hilarious to say that Arsenal celebrated drawing with Chelski. The truth is all of us are disappointed with the draw. But the crowd that you think are 'celebrating' are actually chanting ridicule at how a filthy rich club like Chelsea could be winning just the league cup after investing more then 500m quid. Still, thumbs up to Essien who is the MOTM in my eyes yesterday.
Jimmy, your mum just asked if you've finished your homework yet. If you're still looking for the answers...
a) How many competitions did your team go further than ours in this season?
b) How many times did your team beat ours this season?
c) How many times has Jose Mourinho lost against Arsene Wenger?
The answers are:
a) None
b) None
c) None
Oh and here's the really hard one that I know you'll have trouble with...
Throwing pizza at your opponents is,
a) Classy
b) Not classy
And the lucky last, see if you can guess the care factor that I have for people like you.
Wenger and his clowns really do not know when to quit...If I were an Arsenal fans and those clowns came out after delivering no trophy for two seasons..I would not be applauding...
There seems to be something seriously wrong up North...surely...
So we lost the Cup but in my heart there only is one champion...Did ManU deserve it...I guess so considering the Refs and the some clubs "Everton et al" thought so.
On a serious note they did desire to win the cup and they have won it...Congratulations. Only sad note is what Milan could be saying..."Are those the English Champs we took to football school?" Pity really...
Boulharouz should leave and Arnsen should stop helping buying first team players...let him concentrate on the youth academy...
We entered the league Champions and we now leave Heros...well done boys that was an incredible thing out there...
How bitter and twisted you are Jimmy. I suppose the only enjoyment you'll get in the coming years is to see us lose things from time to time, after all it's another season with jack shit for you lot.... long may it continue.
I wouldn't bother to worry about Roman leaving, it looks like he's in it for the long haul. I'd be more concerned if I was you about another American who knows fuck all about football, buying your club!
Oh happy days!
Even as an Arsenal fan, I would have expected Baptista to hack it wide and left him alone.
But to be honest, we only took four points off you with our depleted and young squad - we took six off the Moaners, so you can only blame yourselves for bottling it.
If Wenger had all that money and half of your players, he'd actually get a team playing decent football - even with a tight budget and a load of kids we can still get Champions League, something you numpties couldn't dream off until the Russian turned up with the stolen roubles.
Still, you could become only the second team in HISTORY to win both domestic cups.
The First?.....
:)
Man.. guys.. what a season.. what a game..:) I love Chelsea, did I say that before?!!!
Lets see the causes for this season's Debacle(!!!!) as some people would call it, for a season comprising of
2nd place in EPL
Semis in Champions League(Who knows we might beat Manure IF we play for the 3rd place)
FA cup Final(Fingers Crossed here)
Carling cup Winner
Its not a debacle.. its a victory, look at the following list and add more, I know I am blinded by my love for the team :)
Look at the scribes and the so called "unbiased" reporters, they are giving rave reviews about the grit and determination about our team and its players.. we knew this all along, and we stood by the team unflinchingly and we will, always, True Blue forever..
1)Injury to Cech
2)Injury to John Terry
3)Roman-JM cold war
4)Bolton Draw----> what went wrong here?!! I see this as the cause for our loss of the premiership
5)only one CB(Ricardo)
6)Robben injuries... aaarrrgggggggggh
7)Joe Cole's injury and effect on Drogba playing every game
8)Sheva's POOR poor performance(cant say its form because he hasnt performed here)
9)Ballack-- a little late, albeit he is becoming a True Blue.
10)Makelele's poor form
11)Frank Lampard dismal performance inspite of the 20 odd goals he has scored this season, he just was unable to lift the team spirit, the agonising mispasses, loss of possession, when he gets the ball, I am scared!!, I used to be so confident, that he will roll the ball and test the goal keeper, like he did in yesterday's game!
12)Jose's general attitude, he needs to cut it out a little, not be so brash, classy is good :) talking fron the heart is great, but lets not hit below the belt, Please Jose, we all are your fans and we will be always.
The pric* that Arsene is he is saying the best team won..he is a worthless piece of shit, borrowed form another site ----->"Jose Mourinho remains unbeaten in seven games against Arsene Wenger"
one more beauty--->"A problem that has stalked Chelsea all season has been the ceaseless conjecture over the future of the 'Special One'. When chief executive Peter Kenyon confirmed two weeks ago that, contrary to reports, the manager would not be sacked, the announcement was perceived as a slap in the face for journalists: Chelsea 1, Press 0. Not so fast, though - for months the club did nothing to dispel the rumours conclusively, and never was the atmosphere more counter-productive to the team than during the dark days of January."
Look at the teams we lost to and the games we drew, take solace in the
Aug 2006--- Middlesborough!!---2-1
Nov 2006--Tottenham--- 2-1
Jan2007---Liverpool 2-0
P W D L Points
1 Man Utd 36 28 4 4 88
2 Chelsea 36 24 9 3 81
do you believe their luck with spot-kicks?
even when City was given one they couldn't score it.
AAAAAARRRGGGHHH
I don't know, but I really have a good feeling about the next season already.
Proud To Be Blue.
Arsenal fans chanting 'Liverpool' and celebrating Man U winning the title; comprehensively outplayed by 10 men, most of whom have played the best part of 60 games this season.
I suppose you have to get your kicks somehow.
[...] on about injuries as if they were the first team to suffer a few. In among some of the strangely gushing tributes paid to them this morning, one writer describes their squad status as “scraping the [...]
Thing is with Arsenal fans is they can't get used to the idea that Whinger is unable beat Jose.
Ten games so far and not one win. I hope you do get bought out my some rich American sugar daddy you'll have no excuses then for winning zilch!
I can see their name now on the fixtures for next year when they become yet another "Franchise"
Chelsea v Arsenal Arseholes.... the name has a nice ring to it don't you think? ;)
Jonathan understand there are only two type of fan
1) the Chelsea fan
and
2) the commoners who boo and chant for any one as per the day
I thought that ws one of the best performances of the season from the boys.
Like Nick, I am happy, despite my recent savaging, to give Sheva one more season. He has the whole summer to get fit. The fact is that Bouhlarouz is another Del Horno - a decent player somewhere like West Ham but not good enough for me. I am writing my end of season review and just waiting the for FA cup (which I will miss!) and so will wrap up a lot more in that. Suffice it to say that my view on players out has altered a tad since earlier this season. Geremi, Bouhla and Ferreira should still go and maybe we should give Carlo the chance for a seasons football somewhere, but for me the most astonishing turn-round has to be SWP. A player I was convinced would be on his way has in the latter part of the season shown real desire and an improvement in all areas of his game. yesterday I thought he played a blinder, but then they all did, Bouhla aside.
As for gooners coming on here and slating us, fair enough, after all I go to their blog site and wind them up for being.......just a tad better than Spurs. It's a bit like chucking stones at the chimps in the zoo. You know you shouldn't but it's bloody good fun watching them shriek and run a round. As for no history and no class.....this is the default cry of the "Any Team in Red" fan based on the false premise that history holds some relevance today. Well, it doesn't anymore because I believe we will re-write modern football history.
Starting with the first FA Cup in the new Wembley and then next season with the return of the PL and the addition of the CL.
Proud to be Blue, Keep the Blue Flag Flying High!
You see my point about the collective IQ of the blue half of London? All of your vile bile would actually make sense if I were a Gooner but sorry to disappoint you lot, the trophy is back where it belongs. There is only one club for me, THE NEW CHAMPIONS OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL . LOSERS!!! HAHAHAHAHAH
Jimmy, your grandpa is a gooner and you dont know that you tosser! There is a legitimate blood line which makes you half Gooner and half Goner. Now, wear your pants a little bit higher cuz we are going to meet some Russian guys for the janitor job you'd applied for.
And what in f*cks name are you doing in this blog you northern monkey?
If I am allowed to ask what you Sir, Jimmy's Dad, are doing here then?
Err...lad! Its a bit of a bother innit? Its a damning habit we Mancs and Gooners got. esp..us cross-breeds! We find this kick outta going and rubbing it in...typing a lorry load of tosh all the friggin time!
Arsenal really need might psychological help...chanting Liverpool and saying they helped ManU win the trophy...
What a sorry collection of losers. They must have been on something mighty sourly strong and it was not a liquid substance...That is plain lunacy
Chelsea have that fighting spirit of '300.' I'm so bloody proud of being a Chelsea fan. God Bless Chelsea!
Its always 500 million this 500 million that (can some statto confirm in reality what has been spent in players As Its certainly not 500 million).
And we've won nothing - apart from the 2 league titles 2 Carling cups, numerous semi finals an a pretigious FA cup final to come, the chance to watch the most relentless side I've ever watched pursue all opponents to the limit of their ability. The chance to watch a side whose ethos is about so much more than money and to be part of a football experiment that, if nothing else, proves that it really isn't money that delivers success but heart, courage, determination and spirit. (I'm tempted at this stage to say "apart from all of the above what have the Romans ever done for us")
But I understand the Jealousy from north London and I'm sure it must be hard to take. Instead of spending money on producing a football team capable of challenging for honours, they've spent £500 million (or £478 million to be exact) on a football stadium so their fans can watch mediocrity in comfort and celebrate a phyric victory after holding out for a 1-1 draw against 10 man Chelsea.
The Arsenal experiment still has some way to run and the purist in me hopes that it has a happy ending but in a world of dietitions, fitness regimes and devotion to tactics we have arrived at a situation where the top sides have 11 men on the field who are athletes first and footballers second - I wold not bet on Wengers dream having a happy ending. On the other hand with Mourihno in charge you know that we will be back as strongly as ever next season.
I seemed to disagree with you lot here. I think we lost the league because we're CRAP!
Henry, In Arabic we say someone is as stubborn as a mule, can you have a guess who is the cement-headed mule in this blog?
Very well said Peter H. I will take the recent run of success we have had and accept the fact that it may not be possible to win the Premiership every single season. Why are so many people complaining? Two titles in three years is a far sight better than no titles in 50 years. I suppose fair weather supporters such as Henry will always exist.
To all you doubters and knockers, Arsenal had a very good season actually. They did a historic treble of league, cup and Europe. Or at least their ladies did.
And to the other "James", or young Jimmy as he is known: hats off, Man U thoroughly deserved the title this year. I can see why Sir Alex is the only other one of the big four Jose seems to respect. They've played brilliantly and we'll see what happens next season.
But as for all this ABC rubbish, that's strictly new fan and guardian columnist territory. Any proper Man U fan with a sense of "history", as everyone seems so keen on at the mo', wanted us to beat the hated scousers last week.
And as for plastic gooners desperate to see the Mancs win out over us, just goes to show the dregs needed to fill a 70,000 stadium.
Bloody good performance second half.
True warriors...
Rumours we're getting Claudio Pizarro?
Bayern can have Bollucks back in exchange
Chelseeeaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!
Quite agree with you Jimbo, the vast majority of us Chelsea fans will have no complaints about Utd winning the title.
After all the table doesn't lie, they are there because they were the better team over the season, and we're big enough to congratulate them on their success.
So Jimmy keep your infantile remarks for the 606 boards, because you'll find next season that as Utd are Champions the same addage will apply.... ABU
PS and you better hope your sugar daddy doesn't get bored or become bankrupt, half a billion quid in debt could be a little problematic!
Good morning Sports fans,
Well i'm extremely proud of my Chelsea Football Club. Well done to the team and staff (and Roman) for one of the most nail biting seasons i've experienced as a Chelsea fan.
And to Man Utd, congratulations. Played great football threwout the season. Sprinkled with Ronaldo diving Man U's season has been played really well. Lord Ferg is a legindary manager, it's great he's in the Prem and hopefully so for untill 2010 season.
Without great managers trhe league wouldn't be half as exciting; Arsens one touch wonder youths, Benitez's one cup wonder player (Gerard), Lorg ferg for his 20 years of consistancey and 'squeaky bum' catch phrase, then there's the special one. WOW what a manager, i do think he could be less contraverial with his comments. Although if this is his tactic (as has been suggested) to divert attention away from players then continue, just don't get us in to trouble....
I'm glad the Prem came this far.
WELL DONE TO CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB FOR AN ENTERTAINING NAIL BITING FINISH.
Next season will be a blinder, i can feel it.
....................K.T.B.F.F.H....................
Another i can feel and know about next season is.....
Liverpool will only be competing for a cup by Christmas and Arsenal will be challenging for fourth place in the league.
........................K.T.B.F.F.H...................................
I have three good friends who are Man -U supporters and I had to begrudgingly give them congrats!! Having said that, I feel sick at the way in which the media keeps on going on about how it was right Man-U deserve to win it because of the style they play! Does that mean that the world cup should only be between Brazil and say Argentina because they will always deserve to win it because of the football they play? Because that is exactly what they are Insinuating! Maybe England should not even bother to enter or Italy for that matter! Does skillfull defending, pinpint tackling coupled with lighting breaks by wingers not also qualify as attractive football? Man-U have to be congratulated because they could have slipped up in the last month and for all our problems and injuries and politics we could still have won the prem if we had won at Newcastle and Bolton because then we would have been up for it a bit more for Arsenal and certainly beaten Man-U at the Bridge so they do deserve credit for that. However, Let's be honest. Not a single Media commentator neither any football fan even if they hate Chelsea would honestly put their hand on their heart and say if we had none of those serious injuries, that we would have lost the title! I honestly believe that. These were not small but huge events for the Club. That is why, I also believe that we will win it again next year and I have a real feeling that by the end of December, that will be the case in terms of a six points lead at least over Man-U. by the way everyone! We will equal Liverpool's record of the longest run of not losing at home if we dont lose the last two games!!! Here's looking to the FA cup and next year!!
=Che Beef posts again=
This are unessisary words from Ferguson, but he spoke them anyway;
The task of overhauling Chelsea was, in Ferguson's words, his "biggest achievement" in 20 years as United's manager and he toasted the occasion with champagne at the club's training ground yesterday. Ferguson said he expected both Abramovich and Jose Mourinho still to be at Stamford Bridge next season but he had a warning for them. "I don't think we have an easy task but I do think this team will get better and if they stay together it will give them a real chance," he said.
It's a great gesture and compliment to Chelsea football club.
...................K.T.B.F.F.H...........
I'm mighty disappointed, but still insanely proud of Chelsea. I feel that they played better football this season than in the past two put together, showed real resilience, strength of character, and determination. They may not have won the Premiership, but they've certainly won a place in my heart. Go Chelsea!
P.S. Cristiano needs to die.
And also, I agree about Boula. He's an Arnesen signing, Jose never rated him correctly, because he's bloody awful. I was glad when he got sent off, because we actually played better.
Players of the season for me have been Drogba, Essien, Lampard, Cech, Carvalho, Robben (yes, really), Kalou (yes, really), and pretty much everyone for some thing or another that they've done. Except Boula.
Hi Guys,
I'm not sure if we'll see a preview thread before tonights game, so thought I'd court opinion here.
Looks like Drogs is out again tonight - I'd be tempted to chuck Sinclair and / or Sahar in from the start. I really dont think either of them could do any worse than Kalou - who I'm not convinced about at all.
And maybe we could play Steve Clarke at the back. Anyone but Boulahrouz.

ABC - Anyone But Chelsea .Numbskull!! They weren't celebrating the 1-1 draw as much as what it meant: that your overpriced team wouldn't win the title. You are the nouveau riche without an ounce of class and noone but your fans like you. You're too dense to figure that out. When your sugar daddy loses interest, you'll be back to the also-rans.
Manchester United are better than chelski in term of football game..Chelsea such a boring game to watch..Man u is worthy champion..we got our trophy back!!
