I was reading some blog in some place and the people were mad
at Sven-Goran Eriksson. He was being the fall guy for what's going on with the National team. I read that he knows nothing of this dark place know as the COCACAF. That he knows nothing of the
Mexican players. That playing teams like Honduras, Jamaica, USA is unknown to him and has no idea as to how different and difficult it will be. That Mexico shows little improvement and so on.
To me it sounded like a bunch of garbage and none sense. This man knows more about football then most of those mediocre coaches that are in the FMF. Full of corruption and miss use of
power and money. Promoters have coaches players and even presidents of clubs. You know the old grease the palm thing. Every one gets a cut in the buying and sale of players.
Sven has coached in five(5) games and about maybe 12 days of actual practice with the players, you know hands on. He came on knowing that from the start his back was against the wall. He
took job knowing that he had little time. Sure the pressure is on but he said that if there were no pressure it wouldn't be worth his time. Meaning that he's up for the challenge. So things
didn't happen the way people were dreaming about. They thought that he was Moses and he would part the red sea. No I don't think people thought that. I'm sure they thought that it would be a
easy and that Mexico would win every game home and away. Not so fast, We forget the first rule of any game. Respect your opponent and Never underestimate them.
I am proud to be Mexican and I am proud of Mexico's National Team like I am of the USA team. ( Man I hate it when they match up) I love my country and served my country. I also love my
heritage and my people and I wear it on my brown skin everyday.
The thing is (sorry for the digression) that Sven has to be given a chance to get his team on his page and work on the practice field. Sure it's going to be a difficult game in Honduras,
so be it. Every thing in life you have to work at. Nothing is easy and I know we are going to be in South Africa 2010. Let the man work. I think that he is the best coach that Mexico has ever
had. I mean he had England for two World Cups. Has more titles around his belt then ant other coach/manager in the Americas.
As far as him not knowing the players, give me a break. Further more do you honestly think that it's harder to qualify in CONCACAF of in European continent. Stop and think before you say
something stupid. One of the thing that's wrong in the FMF is that Televisa has the Mexican National Team under lock and key. Now the other station (TvAzteca) as well. Well I'll stop
because they'll come after me and I'm just a fan and have no money for lawyers. But I'ved said nothing new or that you don't already know.
I am happy that Sven wanted to come over across the pond and take the job as manager to the Mexican National team. He is a smart man and knows alot of football. Has the titles to go down in history as one of the most succesful managers in the history of the sport. I know in my heart as well as in my mind that we will go on to South Africa 2010 and do well, better then in any time in the history of the Mexican National Team.

ericson is a good thing for mexico there is nobody in mexico that could coach el tri any better than ericson
im not one of the people who critizes Sven, i agree with what you say, hes probably the best coach the mexican national team has had in a long while. i've been watching MEXICO since the early 90s and this team right now has the best 11 players on the field ever (except for maybe o. sanchez, i would prefer memo ochoa at goalie... and im a chivas fan, that should tell you alot)... the problem is, and sorry to mix sports, that this group of players is much like the 2004 USA Basketball team, too many starts, not enough role players... its not sven's fault
* and YES, SVEN NEEDS MORE THAN 1 DAY OF PRACTICE WITH THE WHOLE TEAM!
