Yesterday was a crappy work day for me. Hell, it's been a crappy work week to be honest. But, when I sat down to take a peek at the Barça-Bayern match I was tivo'ing before heading to work, what the screen shown was shocking. Well, it was a huge relief first, then it was sort of a big 'Whoa' immediately after. 4-0? First half?? The hell? Needless to say when work became particularly disagreeable that night, all it took was the image of that scoreline, and out came the smile and satiated sigh. 4-0. You know it. Screw work, my boys just beat the crap out of Bayern Munich!
I figured the Catalan squad would have a good shot at beating the Bavarian club, but never imagined this would happen. To be honest, if I were a neutral observer the thought would've been, 'Oh geez, what a boring game. The Germans left their brains at home.'...

It's official. We play Bayern Munich for the quarters. Yes, the German club's looking pretty impressive of late, but if I had to pick a side to play, it would be them. Why? They attack, quite simply. And anyone who attacks leaves their backside open. When two sides play attacking football, the decision usually goes to those who attack best. Defense is there to keep players honest at that point.
To my mind, nobody attacks like FC Barcelona especially this season. They can come at you slow and methodical, fast and furious, or off a blunder from the opposition. They'll trick you with a set piece or take full advantage of a lull in attention from the opponents (like milling around the ref who then blows his whistle to play--BOOM! Messi scores).
