Pavlyunogoals by Kushty on 2009-10-28, 01:47:31 pm Yes I'm gonna talk about Pav again. Last night was Pav big chance to prove himself and I'm sick of everyone dissing the bloke when he is quite
clearly the second best striker we have. Here's Kushty's post match anaylsis on his favourite player. Agression Pav had to ride tough challenges, like when he was sandwiched by Distin and
Hibbert. Soon got his own back with a sliding tackle that that floored Distin. The russian never stopped batteling until about the 75th minute when majority of Spurs players seemed to go walkies
even so he certainly won more challenges than he lost. Attitude Put in a shift trying to help the team defend in only his second start of the season. At times showed off his impeccable technique
and nearly set up a goal in the first half only for captain pointy shouty to fuck it up not all good though as Pav missed 2 half chances himself that Defoe might have put away. Goal Threat
Sloppy. Missed two chances in the first half and faffed about a bit when Bale set him up - Much to the Park lanes displeasure. But on the plus side at least he was getting into the positions to
threaten the Everton goal, much more than Keane did all fucking night. Kushty's verdict. Despite a bit of a shakey start I feel that his overall contribution to the game was a positive one and he
showed that he is willing to work for our team. What more I still think that deep down majority of Spurs fans are still behind him, I think it was about half way through the first half before the
"Super PAV!" chant came out. Overall the bloke need's more game time and more game time with Defoe at that. Thats the only pairing 'Arry hasn't tried yet this season I personally think it would
be our best one, Keano just ain't good enough, last night proved it

Super Sunday Comes Early this Year.. The big 4 play on Sunday

Chelsea versus the super Spurs and Manure versus Citeh, the big 4 meet early in the
season to sort out if there will be a new heir apparent. In the corresponding fixtures last year Spurs earned a draw at the Bridge under Ramos one of his 2 points in eight games. The Mancs put
Citeh to the sword easily. This year Chelsea are looking stronger, and win their games in the second half, but seem to constantly slip up in the first half. Last year Juanderless played a 4-5-1
and Darren Bent snuck us a point. But Harry got all three points at the lane. Will Harry revert to a Defoe and Keane partnership and open up the left handside to Kranjar or is he going to hand
Crouch another start. Will the loss of Modric to a Bowyer inflicted broken leg result in another loss for the mighty spurs. I think not Harry has now had a fall week to work his magic and I am
sure he will make some critical changes to the team that gave in to easily to United last week. Ledley if he is he fit enough to play could be the answer at the back, where Bassong is flying. A
fit Wilson terrified Ballack and Lampard at the lane and if he can avoid an early booking will subdue them again. Gomes was outstanding in both encounters and could start this game, which would
ne a relief to many fans who doubt Cudacini's commitment (I dont actually) Prediction 2-2 draw Chelsea are saved in the 96th minute by the referee.. Bookings Wilson again .. Goal Scorers Defoe
and Kranjar Oh yes and in the other Super Sunday game Citeh will win if Adebayor can play. Ferguson will bleat like a piggy, but not on Match of the Day thankfully for all the rest of us football
    fans (the majority).

Tottenham Hotspurs "Where are we now"

by Five on 2009-07-26, 01:48:18 am
we are so far behind now.

It seems to me we are west ham with a few more fans and a bit more money.

We cannot compete with scum, manu, chelsea, Liverpool and now mancity in attracting players, Villa and Everton will attract ambitious 2nd tier players and we are left with players who want the
cachet and convenience of London with the extra money playing for tottenham brings.

I cannot see a time in the near future this will change. We turn a profit for the owners and have the occasional cup run, most are happy it would seem. I am basing this on my experience since
      1980. Some 30 years.

It is ludicrous to suggest otherwise.

We will not be challenging for major honours anytime soon, but when did we ever? Our last notable achievement was '91 then before that the UEFA cup.

The board has put in place the perfect manager to continue our everlasting hope. Ask wham fans with less bile what Red did for them. Sell the England side basically, to satisfy the board. Red
isn't stupid. His allegiance is to his job and his salary. He is a good manager but bends to the whims of his employers too easily, look to the shakta game last season when we could have beaten
them but he was more worried about wigan and bolton coming up ffs.

What is the point of striving to get to a cup you think means nothing? Most sensible spurs fans and pundits knew boro newcastle, wigan, hull etc were much poorer than us yet still he played
players that will never wear a spurs shirt again in that game.

We are a joke side if we buy Viera. I have been saying since before xmas on the other site that the player of that ilk we needed was Gattuso.

The team we have now is poor. Only Wilson, Keane, Lennon on a good day and maybe Woodgate and Hutton would get near even a Villa side. Bale showed promise but 5 more games of the level he
played last term consigns him to the also rans of Taarabt, Boeteng Santos Gilberto...christ I really could go on. And does anyone really think Jenas and Hudd are the answer? They need to hit
the ground running this season. Gomes is still a stupid twat capable of tremendous saves but with the concentration of a gnat and simply not reliable as a top keeper.

Expect nothing is the message I guess. Crouch would be a welcome aquisition but our malaise is far deeper than a tall bloke with an amazing touch and great football brain.

The board love this staus quo, it yields dividends to them whilst keeping the ignorant happy and at a very cheap cost.

I do not have the answer but I do know it involves buying a lot of quality players at prices we can't afford. Maybe that is the answer, there isn't one. And don't make me laugh by saying what
we have will mature into a team that will push chelsea or scum, that is laughable.

We are the new west ham. Without the claret...but with the blue.
The good news, the news no one heard about .. which is fresh off the press here, is that one Jermain Defoe was spotted acting the total gentleman 7 mles down the road from Brookmans Park,
buying all the ladies in the bar of the White Lodge Hotel (Cockfosters) drinks all round. Thank god there is a gentleman around in times of economic crisis and chav violence.

Well done Jermain, my wife was not there so I am somewhat relieved.

Newsnow is now fast becoming a joke, after allowing certain daft blogs (Not from this site thankfully) to post every useless bit of tripe out there. we see every single lie and joke get posted
      all of the web.

So Goal posts Three Untouchables, then Vital (myspace) Spurs publish one as they allow 11 year olds to post,

The forums debate why was such and such not included, why not Modric, whats Harry doing..

What a bunch of knobs ..

The answer was simple the guy looked up which three players were on the new kit advertisement and choose Woodgate, Lennon and Defoe..

Palacios was on family leave, and Modric looks like rabbit caught in headlamps.. Way too Uggghherly ..

Where Does This Leave Modric?

Over the past month, Spurs have been linked with numerous left wingers, such as Joe Cole, Ashley Young, Stewart Downing, Arjen Robben, and Maxi Rodriguez. With all the talk of
new wingers coming to the Lane, does this mean 'Arry does not see Modric as part of his plans for the future, or does this mean that 'Arry sees Modric as a central midfielder? If we do get a
winger, would 'Arry start Modric over Jenas or Huddlestone? Is all this talk of new wingers merely the newspapers trying to get money? If we do get a new winger, it would totally change the
makeup of the team. We would see BAE make more runs up the left, since the winger could cover for him, Palacios would have more freedom, since he wouldn't have to cover for Modric, but maybe
there wouldn't be too many cuts inside or any clever little balls that he is wont to play. Modric showed some moments of genius last season, and he hinted that more would come with his fabulous
goal against Chelsea. What do you guys think?

Comolli to Show True Colours In Striker Transfer Tug of War?

Old 'friend' Damien Comolli forced to show his true colors as transfer window heats up.
Former Spurs DoF and a well known Woolwich 'man,' Comolli is again the center of attention in North London. As a pikey, he naturally landed himself a job after finally being axed at Spurs with
Ligue 1 Club, St. Etienne. His time at Tottenham will now come into great use as the French outfit is being barraged by larger clubs looking to equip themselves with St. Etienne's best
performers. At the centre of the transfer storm lies 6 foot 1 and a half inch forward, Bafetimbi Gomis. Gomis has been earmarked by both Redknapp and Wenger on their short list of targets. With a
transfer for either Real Madrid Oranje forward looking increasingly unlikely, 'Arry has set his eyes on the 23 year old Senegalise born Frenchman. Redknapp is a long time admirer, and Levy is
hoping his ties to our former DopeygitofFootball will ensure the athletic target man's signature to partner with England International, Jermaine Defoe. However, below the Thames in
Woolwich...errr over at the Emirates, Wenger is ready to offload Adebeyour to raise transfer funds and it is said the Togo forward has become disillusioned with the lack of ambition and salary he
is receiving at Ars*nal. Bundesliga leading scorer Dzenko has been Wenger's top target, but he seems dead set on a move to Milan. It has been said that Wenger sees Gomis as a cheaper like for
like replacement for his elephant washer and is hoping Commolli's true allegiance shines through red. Once again D.C. is in charge of a potential major Spurs summer signing. I think he owes it to
us to get this one right...

A Word Of Caution

      http://essentialspurs.proboards.com

As we prepare to bid a not-so-fond farewell to helium-voiced Didier Zokora, just one of the many fringe players likely to be packing their bags at The Lane this summer, a word of caution is in
      order.

The exodus of deadwood and clodhoppers is going to leave us very short of numbers, so much so that we may well find ourselves restocking the shelves with similarly uninspiring players. For all
of you who are on the brink of unfettered joy and thoughts of dancing naked in the streets, remember that there may be a Nigel Reo Coker lurking just around the corner, threatening to rain on
      your parade.

It goes without saying that every team needs its water-carriers but what is wrong with hoping for a better class of water-carrier? Reo-Coker's career has stagnated in recent times, making him a
peripheral figure at Villa. Just like Zokora, he has found himself called upon only in times of injury crises and so on, plugging a hole in the right back position, for example.

He's a fine athlete but if we're being honest, isn't he a bit of a bungalow really? He's a shoddy passer and he'd almost need a map to find the opposition's goal. Almost. He may have found his
way a couple of times in the past but it was probably an accident, the kind that sees the ball richocheting in off Darren Bent's posterior. Maybe Steve Sidwell would be a better, if
      unspectacular alternative?

The 100m Dash

We have our share of leaden-legged players at White Hart Lane. For the purpose of deciding who is the slowest of the lot, I have carefully selected nine of them and am putting three
      questions to you-

      1. In a 100m dash, who would finish last?

      2. Who would triumph in the best of a bad lot?

      3. Who has the most ungainly gait?

Forget this horse manure about Bentley being one of the fastest players in the Premiership-it's a malicious lie. The favourites for the "Most Ungainly Gait" award are undoubtedly Woody and
      Charlie.

Here's the painstakingly chosen list in full (knock yourselves out, people)-Dawson, Woodgate, Corluka, Modric, Huddlestone, Keane, Pavlyuchenko, O'Hara and Bentley.

In the midst of the alopecia-inducing transfer speculation that is par for the course in the life of a Spurs fan comes the soothing sound of interest in Russian space cadet Roman
      Pavlyuchenko.

VFB Stuttgart are the said suitors and the news comes complete with an all-important quote from their director of sport with the rather grotesque name, Horst Heldt, "Pavlyuchenko is
an intereting player and we have discussed his name internally." If this revelation doesn't warm the cockles of your heart, then you are not one of the multitude queueing up to drive
      this misfit to the airport.

Stuttgart have money burning a hole in their pockets, following the sale of Mario Gomez to Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich for the not-so-shabby sum of £25m. All we can hope for now is
that Levy doesn't threaten to spoil the party with his predilection for brinkmanship.

Pavlyuchenko is an unpleasant legacy from the ham-fisted work of Damien Comolli, a man who showed himself to be incapable of organising a knees-up in a brewery, if last summer's
shenanigans are anything to go by. It wasn't just that Super Pav was less than enthusiastic about a move to England, there is also the alarming fact that he has shown no sign of coming to
terms with the language. This was recently confirmed by Guus Hiddink and, curiously, Cesar Sanchez, who says it is "impossible" to communicate with Pav unless you speak Russian. You don't need
to cast your mind too far back to recall the last time some wiseguy tried to get by at The Lane without learning the lingo. Worse still is Hiddink's admission that Pav is inherently complacent.

I don't give two hoots if he rattles in forty goals in the Bundesliga next season. Let's not suffer another seaon of Pav's interpreter getting in everyone's way on the training ground next
      season.
