Another month where it seems there is little to smile about. However, as usual when the chips are down our very own Captain Marvel, Carles Puyol, raises his game, and he thoroughly deserves to be named April Player of the Month. He was excellent in the quarter final games with Schalke, and stayed at a decent level throughout the month despite all the team problems. The top five for April is as follows:
Winterhunt I agree Drogba would be a great buy. He adds something completely different to our team and would give us a very different dimension. He may not be the most skillful player on the ball but we have enough of that. We need a tall, strong figure in the penalty area with a commanding presence, Drogba would provide exactly that. Personally I think he would work a lot better than Henry, especially if Mourinho took over. Mourinho + Drogba? Hmmm, how knows!?!?! Imagine Eto'o and Drogba playing off of each other....Drogba with his strength holding up the ball and Eto'o with his pace receiving the lay off! Plus it would finally give us the option to be a little more direct sometimes, something that seems impossible right now!
Morzzan, actually I'm quite happy for Grant. When he got down on his knees and kissed the pitch while wearing the black armband for Lampard's mom, I was deeply touched emotionally. I don't wish ill upon him, and I was rooting for him. Maybe that is hard for you as a Madrista to understand...
What is with this Morzzan guy??????
Morzan, why you continue on your fruitless crusade to promote the idea that Mourinho is a bad coach is beyond me. Was Cryuff a bad coach because he only won one Champion's League????? How many has Sir Alex won???? The answer is He's won one in 1988/89. How many has Wenger won???? You love him, extoll his virtues, yet he hasn't won. Frank has won only one, but you say he is a better Coach than Jose. If you really think that because Grant got to the Champion's League with a team of players molded who's core was molded by Mourinho, somehow invalidates Mourinho's resume then your name should me Moron not Morzzan. Besides, you're a Madrista by your own admision, so how can you possibly be on this board spouting off constantly about what is best for our club. I would never impose my views on a Real board, and yet you persist endlessly with your one little point, which is "You hate Mourinho for whatever reason, so Mourinho must be bad"; That is the logic of a child, and maybe that explains it, maybe you are just 1o or 12 years of age, and if that is the case then I apologise, and I don't want to be strong with you because you don't really deserve it but you endlessly post the same thing everytime I post on any subject. You follow me around like some stalker when I am just trying to have a discourse with fellow Barca fans about our team, Not your's. LOOK, I GET IT, YOU HATE MOURINHO, OK..... You made your point, YOU HATE HIM. NOW CAN YOU PLEASE STOP STALKING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The point you cannot make is that he is a bad coach, because like him or loathe him, anyone who knows even the littlest bit about football, knows he is a flat out great coach . What we debate here is not his merit as a coach but whether he is philosophically correct for Barcelona, whether he is divisive, etc. No one I have ever known has ever been so adamant about him not being a good coach. Look Morzzan or Moron or whatever your Madrista moniker is, you hate Mourinho for whatever reason and if you think Grant is a better Coach then you are entitled to your opinion but will you please stop following all my posts with your little, inane, moronic & Madrista fueled little posts.... You are like an annoying little mousquito or idiot child who fixates on one thing and repeats it endlessly hoping that will give it credence.....
Again, I am happy for Avram Grant, I happen to like Drogba, I happen to Like Michael Essien, I happen to like Petr Cech, and I was rooting for Chelsea yesterday, and will root for them again in the final., now will you PLEASE leave me alone with your obsessive Mourinho hatred, my post was not intended for you, nor did it have anything to do with what you attacked me for without provocation.... You really are such a Madrista, and on our board too, that really is pretty offensive to me.......
Hilal, I'm with you..... The thought of Drogba in the box and Messi & Sammy & Iniesta & Bojan etc making runs and spreading the defense, is something I thought about all game yesterday, as when Anelka made that run that was similar to a Messi run (only he drew only one defender not 3 like Leo) and then crossed the ball, and Drogba was actually in the box and buried it...... Man. that is just what we needed against Man U..... I'm sure this will set off another 18 emails by this Madrista Morozon or Moranz or whatever his name is with his hatred for Mourinho, but anyway, I agree if if was Mourinho then it could very well be Drogba, as Drogbs has stated over and over that he wants to play for Jose wherever he coaches.... So by the way have both Cech & Essien..... I don't want to turn into Chelski Spain, but Cech & Essien too would make us a truly scary team to deal with....... I'm not holding my breath though..... I don't have a good feeling about our direction at the moment, I think that Laporta & Frank are both too stubborn for their own good or The Club's Good....... Also, I love Frank but to say after losing that Man U won but we played more beautifully, really comes off badly, and makes us look silly, like we only care about style and not substance as well..... He should have, in my opinion, just been a bigger man, and congratulated Fergie, no matter how loathesome that felt inside..... They did beat us fair and square no matter their methodology, and it really is a bit of a reach for Frank to cal our style over those two legs without scoring a goal as "Beautiful", not exactly "Total Football" by my definition, at least..... Take care my man, and keep your fingers crossed, a couple of decisions made correctly could take us to a dominant force with our core or a couple of poor ones could doom us to middle of the table if we are not careful...... I just hope for the best at this point..... All my best, brother.....
Puyol is my idol. Everybody is like omg Messi! omg eto'o!........pfft we all should be like OMG Puyol! That fool is a madman. I remember one instance a while back when he was attacking during a set-piece. Goes for a header, gets decked in the head, falls down, gets back up, runs all the way back to defend a counter, stops it by himself, clears it out and starts yelling at the ref. I was like "why the hell is he yelling at the ref?". They did a close-up on him and guess what? He was bleeding from the head. I was like "Goddamn! He crazy!" Yea man, Puyol is my idol.
On a completely different note:
Interestingly enough, according to Txiki Begiristain (Thats such an intense name) almost nothing would have changed if Barca had made it to the final and won the Champs league. However, since the team lost all possibilities of winning any silverware, major changes are to be made.
The director also mentioned that Barca had boosted the squad in hopes of improvement but it turned out to be a failure. In my opinion, it was the lack of finishing that has been the bane of the blaugrana's miserable season. The midfield was totally dominated by Toure. Infact it was his first season at Barcelona when people began regarding him as the best holding midfielder in the world. The defence was top-notch till they were humbled at Vicente Calderon by Aguero. You cant really blame the defence for starting to give up when all their hard work just ends up being a lame 0-0 draw. They start to tire after witnessing that they are doing their part but the finishing is slack and the team is not getting the results they desire. With that in mind, I think the only failure signing this year was Thierry Henry. Instead of modestly focusing on playing hard and scoring (or atleast help scoring) goals he just moped around and made more excuses than a chronic liar on trial. Milito, Abidal and definitely yaya did their part (defenders to some extent) but Henry totally failed.
Rijkaard is leaving without a doubt with Pep and Jose tipped to be the most likely of Frank's successor.
The players Barcelona want to offload are Deco, Thuram, Zambrotta, Marquez, Gudjohnsen, Henry (wow he is just being kicked out after one season, thats sad) and Ronaldinho (forget Henry, this is even more depressing)
The players Barcelona want to buy are Dani Alves, Coloccini (Is it just me or does Barcelona have a thing for curly haired centrebacks?), Lahm, Fabregas and Benzema.
Hopefully things change for the better.
Hey Winter, I had a smiley next to what I said indicating that it was just a joke. Now, if you cant take it in that sense, then yes, u decide who is being a 12 year old!!!
And dude, you really dont have to be so offensive all the time, I just meant it as a joke, and of all the people who comment here, look up your past comments, u need to respect others opinions, really, otherwise, you are just some bloody dabbler who has no value for what others say, and ultimately you are just an arrogant person. (just like mourinho)
So, Im a madrid fan, so what? I like participating in discussions asnd without a doubt, I havent said anything against the fans or against Barca's best interests. So I dont see how that would affect the topic discussed.
Hey and I am not the only person who feels Mourinho is pathetic. Read some of the previos posts and you will see. I dont see how one can compare Mourinho with Ferguson, Wenger or Cryuff? These people dont speak crap about others, no they dont. And respect, like something you lack is necessary for a coach of a big team. When was the last time any one from any other club spoke bull shit like he does? The season when he won the Champions League at Porto, his team scored a mere 63 goals in the league, thats less than 2 goals per game. Is that attacking football you speak about?? Videos of Porto when he was there, what did u see, 1-0, 2-0 and yes they get the three points. Rijkaards team on the other hand, scored atleast 75 goals per season, in a more attacking and difficult league. When Chelsea won the league under mourinho, they scored another 72 goals that season, compared to an (inadequate...wohow) Wenger's squad which scored 87 goals. What does that tell you again? 2005-06 season, again, 72 goals. And any team with that many good players could score that many goals, with/without a coach. Do you still want any more references as to how attacking mourinho was? Madrid under super defesive Capello scored as many goals as he did. Madrid have scored 75 odd goals already under Schuster in his first season. And he is not even considered as good as Wenger or Fergie. Dont just continously speak rubbish man, back your statements up with FACTS!!!
And one more thing, next time before you call someone names, like moron or whatever, man, I really dont know what to say, perhaps you should take a course in Speech 101, where they teach you how important it is to value others' opinions and at the same time, respect others. And this was just letting you know that you are not the only person who can go on the offensive. You complained about me being a Madrid fan, hell, this madrid fan was the only person who stood up for Barcelona's coach at one point of time.
Neways take care!
Moronz, what about PLEASE STOP STALKING ME, MADRISTA, DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND??????? A Real fan bragging about sticking up for our hapless coach along with everything else you speak of has NO INTEREST TO ME, Nothing about what you say interests me only that you stop adressing your inane comments to me.... PLEASE..... I'm not asking you to stop posting or espousing your ideas, just please leave me out of it.... I am not interested in wasting time with you Madrista whatever your points.... I am only interested in speaking with Barca supporters or supporters of other clubs that do not constantly follow up every post of mine with the same inane point over and over..... You don't see me harassing people with one note posts over and over on some Madrista Board..... ONCE AGAIN MORONZ, STOP STALKING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just read in Marca that Rijkaard has packed his bags and wont stay longer than a few weeks.....
Yeah and after this post, Winter,
Ur just some fool who cant back his own statements.... and also makes up lousy excuses for getting out of a discussion.
Imagine Yaya and Essien in midfield, they'll destroy anything that comes in their way, the midfield would be montrous... *only a dream though* :)
one monsterous midfield is enough.

Heard Essien is going to madrid, AS reported today, after Mijatovic was seen at Stamford Bridge....
Frank is out.

I wish you luck.
Hopefully, laporta will bring Mou in not Pepe otherwise we're doomed.
Nic i think it's about time you dish out some yellow cards here,
lol
since when did you start acting like gerrard, telling the ref to pull out a card...
@shahensa
why marquez dude???? just because he failed against depor ?? dude hes the best player on air for corner kicks without him milito or puyol can score as defenders
maybe in some rarely occasions but everyone looks for rafa in corner kicks mourinho would love to have him on his team........
OH MY GOD, MORZZON, WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO JUST GET YOU TO STOP??????? You know what, YOU ARE RIGHT and I AM WRONG; Jose Mourinho is a horrible Coach, a Horrible Person, Completely overrated, Avram Grant is twice the Coach Jose is, Frank 10 times the coach that Jose is, and So is Schuster, Wenger, Feguson, Benitez, Ramos, all of them are better..... Jose's numbers are way overhyped, he somehow lucked into winning his two European trophies, and his EPL Titles, God Knows how, He has no eye for talent, it was all his fault Chelsea played as poorly as they did, his fault alone that he couldn't get Chelsea to win the Champion's League, He is a blight on the game, and I am truly a fool for liking him or wanting him to Coach the Club I support because obviously he will singlhandedly destroy our reputation and he is incapable of playing beautiful football like we have the last couple of years, Jose Mourinho is a complete media creation, YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!! I AM WRONG!!!! JOSE IS A DREADFUL COACH JUST AS YOU SAY... DOES THAT SATISFY YOU????? CAN YOU PLEASE, NOW, STOP ICLUDING ME IN YOUR POSTINGS???????? Oh, and if us Barca fans are cursed with his presence then we will undoubably suffer vast humiliations at the hands of your club Real..... NOW, WILL YOU PLEASE JUST LEAVE ME BE, AND JUST LET ME COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER BARCA FANS????????? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i cant see morzzan doing any wrong....stop the unnecessary arguments...thats not wat the site is about. if u dont like a comment, dont reply to it....simple...u guys should stop....barca are in deeper shit
To Winterhunt and Morzzan. It really is no fun to read some of the petty squabbling going on here. I do not have the time to go back through previous comments to see how this started and quite frankly I don't care. Please just ignore each other from now on as I really do not want to have to ban people. You must realise that it is pretty boring for everyone else to read your comments to each other. I do not want this site to become like some others where people vent their frustrations by slagging each other off. I will do my best to keep this a place for debate about football where people respect each other regardless of their opinions or their team. Quite frankly I am getting pretty tired of the tone of some of the arguments and I would rather ban people and have fewer comments if it keeps the site on a friendly level. Thank you.
yo boby
naw man that aint my list of people who should leave and stay. I got it from this link:

I do believe that Drogba and Lampard will be interested to join a club of which Mourinho is managing.
First of all I apologise for any comments that bored or annoyed anyone, and I was certainly off topic, so I am sorry to everyone for that.....
Back to Barca, Not sure if this is the proper thread but it seems that the theme has sort of drifted this way.... it seems according to several published sources, Mundo Deportivo and others, that Pep has reservations as to if he is ready to take over the first team. He would take the job if offered but would prefer to wait a year to make sure he is prepared..... This to me is not a great sign of a team that needs a firm hand, and a confident coach who can impose his will/discipline on a group that severely lacks direction discipline. So my suggestion would be a compromise of sorts, if posiblr bring in Jose and have Pep as his number one assistant. This would give Jose further ties to Barca tradition/attacking football etc, and give Pep a great deal more experience. If Jose works out then we are good and Pep would be next in line or could go become head coach somewhere else until Jose moves on in a few years, and if Jose doesn't work out then Pep could step in. In the meantime, we could get our house in order with a disciplined team. Also, as stated by myself and others and by Drogba himself, there is a good chance that would bring Didier to us, which would make our attack far more direct when needed, and at least in my opinion really complement Messi. Unload Henry, and replace him with Drogba, and suddenly a lot of our problems in the box will be helped instantly...... Also read we have contacted Ancelotti which to me would be an absolute disaster..... Whatever the right answer is, whoever it is, and I can't pretend to know, only speculate, but we'd better get it right because we hang perilously close to cleaning house without a clear plan, and the right decision can keep us at the top and actually improve us to a dominant position that we have frittered away, and if the wrong plan is implemented, we could easily drop into mediocrity, and then see an exodus of players who don't want to play for an unfocused, underachieving club....... I have to say, I am really worried at the moment, I have lost confidence in Laporta & Txiki..... We are so close to being THE Dominant team in Europe, and I worry that we could easily fall back due to the stubbornness of Laporta & what seems like confusion on Txiki's part..... It may be the press just floating endless rumours but it seems we are all over the place, and no one in management has a really clear idea of how to proceed, as if all this just came upon us and hasn't been developing over two years now...... hopefully they have a plan in place..... Really, it seems to me that people on this board have far better ideas and suggestions than what I have heard reported as our leadership's ideas..... but then again as I said, I am not in board meetings only reading the media which of course will sensationalise everything.... I'm just worried, and have that sinking feeling, that's all............ Hopefully I'm wrong.....
I wouldnt worry too much about what is being said in the press Winterhunt. The stories you will hear over the coming weeks are mostly going to be rumors and speculation. I am sure that both Laporta and Txiki have learnt from last years mistakes. It is natural that now it has been confirmed Frank is out that many names are going to be linked with us. I am sure that Laporta and Txiki have a plan in place and it would not surprise me if they've had it for a while. There is still no word on where Mourinho will be next season so who knows..... I still have a sneaky suspicion that all these names being thrown around like Ancelotti and Blanc are just supposed to distract the press and the fans.
One thing i know about fans is that their perceptions change with results if mourinho comes in and starts dishing out results i think hell have more fans than enemies here.
what iam worried about is his respect for youth systems i like to see homegrown academy graduates strut their stuff on the pitch, how he will handle this should he come iam hoping it should be in a rijkaard sort of manner.my vote is for MOURINHO to come in but ill respect whoever they will appoint anyways, i like entertaining football and guts and fighting spirit to the 90th minute i hope with the NEW coach & NEW players we can attain this let the change take place slowly.

Honestly I think considering his injury Yaya has been the player of the month. He has been immense for us in every crucial game and to have such an impact while carrying quite a serious injury says a lot about not only his ability and strength but his hunger and passion. I think this guy is going to be one of the core players that we build our new team around and he is exactly what we need.
Lets hope we rebuild properly this time and not just do patchwork like we did last season.
Yeah, Yeah Yaya..... I second that..... Absolutely courageous to play with a slipped disc is insanely painful...... I love the guy, and have heard over and over again from so many people, so many commentators, other coaches etc, how they consider him the best holding midfielder in the world, great combination of skill, physicality, bravery, intelligence, and a good bit of intimidation as well...... A bit off topic, but after watching Drogba today, and remembering how Yaya was saying how much Didi wanted to play for Barca and talked about it throughout the African Cup, man, I would take him in a heartbeat, his presence in the box is just immense, and the thought of him teaming up front with Messi/Bojan..... when Messi draws 2 or 3 defenders and crosses the ball into the box like he did several times against Man u only for there to be no one there to receive it and deposit it in the net..... Drogba knows how to deal with those..... I know he can be moody, and dives (though to my eyes no more than twinkle toes Ronaldo), but in big games that I've seen, a killer..... today was a pristine example, no dives, and motivated, and exactly what we lack up front, a finisher, an amazing performance, if he really wants out of Chelsea count me as one Barca fanatic who would volunteer to pick him up at the airport and drive him to the Nou Camp....... when Messi creates space or Iniesta does or Bojan does, or on set pieces/corners, this guy would solve so many issues for us..... today was an awesome display, really made Benitez eat his words big time..... I know probably no one else wants him for us, but had to vent........
